Tips on removing pet hair

in Hive Pets2 years ago (edited)

We love our fur babies. Our fur babies shed no matter how much we vacuum & brush them their fur somehow finds a way to cling to our clothes. Sometimes we notice it on our way out the door for an appointment. This has happened to me several times. The shorter hair breeds are definitely more challenging in my opinion. Their fur tends to sneak up on you out of nowhere.

Ive used countless rolls of sticky tape ,lint rollers, static spray & yes they do the job. However it becomes expensive to keep buying these items. I thought there must be another way to remove the pet hair.

This is what I have tried and works for me. Best of all they are reusable and saves $!

  1. Vinyl rubber gloves. Not the thin latex kind but the thicker gloves for washing dishes. Simply wet the glove and glide it over your clothes in one direction. You may need to do this a few times but it works.

  2. Window squeegee. This works great for removing pet hair on carpet before vacuuming. Also on couches too. This also helps prevent vacuum clogs.

  3. Freezer. If you are not in a hurry this is another trick that works. Put garment in a bag and put it in the freezer for an hour or 2. Then simply remove from freezer, take garment outside and shake it over and over ( yes your neighbors might think you are strange but who cares 😆) The hair will fall off.

  4. I bought a water air purifier. I have notice a reduction in not only pet fur but also dust. Its a great device for people with allergies, asthma, etc... the one I bought is called rainmate. You simply fill with water and turn it on. It traps the hair , food odors from cooking& dust. You can also add essential oils to give your house an amazing scent ( please make sure the oils are pet friendly before using )

Would love to hear what has worked for you.
