SUNDAY WALK WITH MY DOGS.
Every day, I take my dogs, Puchi and Rita, out at least 3 or 4 times, mainly because Rita can't do her business anywhere in the house—she always needs to go outside. That’s why I have to take her out very often. While for many people that might seem like enough walks in a week, for my dogs, it’s never enough. If it were up to them, we’d be out for hours every day. That’s why, whenever I have time, I try to take them for a walk on the weekend—not just a short outing for them to do their business, but a long walk of 1-2 hours where they can sniff as much as they want, play, run, get tired, and get some exercise.
Unfortunately for Puchi, I can never let him off the leash. He’s the type of dog who would take off running after a pigeon without thinking about the risks. It has happened before—he’s dashed toward the streets, giving me the biggest scares of my life. Because of that, I never let him roam free, only in enclosed spaces exclusively for dogs.
Both of them have a very youthful spirit. They’re around seven years old, so I hope that means they still have a long life ahead of them.
This beautiful place where I take them for walks is Lago de Regatas. It’s a great spot to go for a walk, breathe fresh air, and, of course, an ideal place to spend time with your pets.
Sometimes, when I have more free time or when the weather is just perfect, I take them to bigger parks, like Bosques de Palermo. They absolutely love it there because there are so many new smells, other dogs, ducks, huge trees, and dirt paths that they find fascinating. Rita is more relaxed; she stays by my side most of the time. But Puchi? He’s the rebellious one—he always wants to chase anything that moves. Still, I can’t complain; they both behave quite well.
One thing I love about these long walks is that they help me disconnect from daily stress. It’s a moment when I’m not glued to my phone or thinking about work or the everyday worries that come with being an adult. I’m just there, with them, watching them enjoy themselves, getting excited over the simplest things. It makes me realize how easy it is to make them happy and how much I truly enjoy spending time with them. They really are my greatest treasure, and I hope life gives me as much time as possible to be with them.
It’s also fun to see how they interact with other dogs. Rita tends to be a bit aggressive at first, but once she feels comfortable, she runs and plays like a puppy—she’s so sweet. Puchi, on the other hand, is a little scared at first, but when he sees that the other dogs have no bad intentions, he relaxes and starts playing too. Their completely opposite personalities always make me laugh.
At the end of the day, after one of these long walks, we get home, and they both pass out. One of my goals this year is to take them out even more often.

DOMINGO DE CAMINATA CON MIS PERROS
Todos los días salgo con mis perros Puchi y Rita al menos 3 o 4 veces, principalmente porque Rita no logra hacer sus necesidades en ningún lugar de la casa, siempre necesita salir, y por ese motivo debo sacarla con mucha frecuencia. Aunque para muchos eso podría ser suficientes salidas a la semana, para mis perros eso no es suficiente. Si es por ellos, saldríamos todos los días por horas. Por eso trato, cada vez que tengo tiempo, de sacarlos a pasear en el fin de semana, pero no una salida corta para que hagan sus necesidades, sino una salida larga de 1-2 horas donde puedan olfatear tanto como deseen, jugar, correr, cansarse y hacer algo de ejercicio.
Lamentablemente para Puchi, no puedo nunca soltarlo, él es capaz de irse corriendo a perseguir una paloma sin medir los riesgos, me ha pasado que se ha ido corriendo hacia las calles y he tenido los mayores sustos de mi vida con él, por eso motivo nunca lo dejo suelto, solo en espacios cerrados exclusivamente para perros.
Los dos tienen un espíritu bastante joven. Tienen alrededor de siete años, por lo que espero que sea señal de que les queda aún una larga vida por vivir.
Este hermoso lugar donde los saco a pasear es el Lago de Regatas, es un lugar hermoso para salir a caminar y respirar aire fresco y obviemente un espacio ideal para compartir con tus mascotas.
A veces, cuando tengo más tiempo libre o cuando hace un clima perfecto, me animo a llevarlos a otros parques más grandes, como a recorrer Bosques de Palermo. Ahí la pasan increíble porque hay muchísimos olores nuevos, otros perros, patos, árboles gigantes y caminos de tierra que les encantan. Rita es más tranquila, va a mi lado casi siempre, pero Puchi es el rebelde, él siempre quiere perseguir lo que sea que se mueva, a pesar de eso no puedo quejarme, los dos se portan bastante bien.
Algo que me gusta de estos paseos largos es que me permiten desconectarme un poco del estrés diario. Es un momento en el que no estoy pegado al teléfono, ni pensando en el trabajo o en las preocupaciones que tenemos todos los adultos cada día. Solo estoy ahí, con ellos, viendo cómo disfrutan, cómo se emocionan con las cosas más simples. Me hace pensar en lo fácil que es hacerlos felices, y en lo mucho que disfruto pasar tiempo con ellos. Realmente son mi mayor tesoro y espero que la vida me permita compartir con ellos la mayor cantidad posible de tiempo.
También es divertido ver cómo interactúan con otros perros. Rita suele ser un poco agresiva al principio, pero cuando agarra confianza, corre y juega como si fuera una cachorra, es muy dulce. Puches un poco miedoso, pero cuando ve que los demás perros no tienen malas intenciones, se siente libre y despierta su lago juguetón. Me da mucha risa ver sus personalidades tan distintas.
Al final del día, después de uno de estos paseos largos, llegamos a casa y ambos caen rendidos. Una de mis metas del año es sacarlos a pasear aún más a menudo.
