When we adopt a pet we talk about commitment. It is not just taking them for believing that they are cute and that they are going to decorate our house, no. They require a lot of love and care. Make them feel like they belong there. Today I want to tell you the story of Fiu Fiu. This puppy so cute that it stole my heart and although I was reluctant to receive it, not because I didn't want it, but because of the great commitment I must assume. From the moment of his birth I loved him without knowing that he would be part of this story because he was already adopted by other people. Now we are going to tell you the story from the beginning. Without further ado, let's begin.
BIENVENIDOS A MI BLOG
Cuando adoptamos una mascota hablamos de compromiso. No es sólo tomarlos por creer que son lindos y que van a adornar nuestra casa, no. Ellos requieren de muco amor y cuidados. Hacerlos sentir que pertenecen a ese lugar. Hoy quiero contarles la historia de Fiu Fiu. Este perrito tan tierno que me robó el corazón y aunque estaba renuente de recibirlo, no por no quererlo, sino por el gran compromiso que debo asumir. Desde el mismo instante de su nacimiento lo quise sin saber que formaría parte de esta historia porque ya estaba adoptado por otras personas. Ahora vamos a contarles la historia desde el principio. Sin más, comencemos.
More than 6 months ago my daughter @agathalara came telling me the story of Mía, a dog that her mother-in-law recovered from the streets. Mia was being mistreated by the sector where she was and Mrs. Noris came to her rescue and once at her residence discovered that she was pregnant. She was ragged and full of ticks and fleas. She was taken to the vet and checked for pregnancy and ticks on her.
A few months later 3 puppies were born, two males and one female. Hace mas de 6 meses mi hija @agathalara llegó contándome la historia de Mía, una perrita que su suegra recuperó de las calles. Mía estaba siendo objeto de maltrato por el sector donde se encontraba y la Sra. Noris llegó a su rescate y una vez en su residencia descubrió que estaba preñada. Estaba andrajosa y con muchas garrapatas y pulgas. Fue llevada al veterinario y puesta en control para su embarazo y garrapatas.
Unos meses después nacieron 3 perritos, dos machos y una hembra. Mi yerno emocionado comenzó a mandarnos fotos y yo, en un arranque de locura instantánea le dije aque me regalara uno, jajajajaja pero la verdad era que no lo quería porque ya tenemos a Chloe que es una perrita bien demandante, ya que desde que llegó se adueñó de todos nosotros y los espacios de la casa.

Two months after they were born, the alleged owners of the puppies never appeared and although Mrs. Noris and my daughter's boyfriend no longer wanted to give them up, my daughter told me that she wanted to have Fiu Fiu if she could bring him home. I thought about it a lot, because it is a responsibility for me, it is to have one more baby at home, to be aware of his feeding, his vaccinations, to maintain order and cleanliness and what worried me the most was that I did not have the time available to take care of both Chloe and Fiu Fiu, due to the continuous therapies that I have to take my mom to and the house would be left alone when the others go to work. Even knowing everything I said yes. That night I did not sleep, thinking about the aforementioned. Because although my daughter told me, I take responsibility, she knew that during her absence, I would have to take care of it.
The next morning I told her that she had thought better of it and that we better give up the idea of bringing Fiu Fiu and she told me all sad that she had already made a commitment and that she was going to look for him.
Siguieron pasando los días y la evolución de los perritos de Mía seguían llegando a nosotras. Conocimos sus travesuras, sus malestares, el desastre que hacían en la casa de mi yerno y así todos los días teníamos un reporte nuevo de su desarrollo. La hembra murió al mes de su nacimiento y solo quedaron los dos machos a quienes llamaron Fiu Fiu y Canelo. De los tres Fiu Fiu era el más tremendo.
Dos meses después de nacidos, los presuntos dueños de los perritos nunca aparecieron y aunque la Sra. Noris y el novio de mi hija ya no querían darlos, mi hija me comentó que ella quería tener a Fiu Fiu que si podía traerlo a casa. Lo pensé mucho, porque es una responsabilidad para mi, es tener un bebé más en casa, estar pendiente de su alimentación, de sus vacunas, de mantener el orden y la limpieza y lo que más me preocupaba era que no tenía el tiempo disponible para atenderlos a los dos a Chloe y a Fiu Fiu, debido a las continuas terapias a las que debo llevar a mi mamá y la casa quedaría sola cuando los demás salen al trabajo. Aún sabiendo todo le dije que sí. Esa noche no dormí, pensando en lo antes mencionado. Porque aunque mi hija me decía, yo me hago responsable, sabía que el tiempo de su ausencia, me tendría que ocupar yo.
A la mañana siguiente le dije que lo había pensado mejor y que mejor desistíamos de la idea de traer a Fiu Fiu y ella me dijo toda tristona que ya ella se había comprometido y que lo iba a buscar.
And so began the pitched war at home. The adaptation process was very difficult since Chloe felt that she owned everything and everyone. It was three weeks of learning, of studies to know how to assume this process, since Chloe is the spoiled one or was the spoiled one until Fiu Fiu arrived. I began to read a lot on the internet and to explain to my daughters and my husband that we had to be patient because the way Fiu Fiu entered the house was not the most appropriate, according to what I was reading, they explained that when we bring a new pet home we must prepare the terrain and present them in a neutral space since they are very territorial. So for me it was a very tough three weeks because I not only had to deal with the dogs, but also with the other members of my family so that they wouldn't scold Chloe.
The agreement I reached with Agatha was that he was not going to spend long periods away from home until Chloe and Fiu Fiu slept together, that when that happened it meant that he had already accepted it and there was no danger of Chloe mistreating him, since she is a hyper active and very territorial dog.
That day finally arrived after a month of hard process, and thanks to all the recommendations on the internet and the patience we had, so that they learned to respect their spaces, their plate of food, they began a beautiful coexistence and to love each other.
Y así comenzó la guerra campal en casa. El proceso de adaptación fue muy difícil ya que Chloe se sentía dueña de todo y de todos. Fueron tres semanas de aprendizaje, de estudios para saber como asumir este proceso, ya que Chloe es la consentida o era la consentida hasta que llegó Fiu Fiu. Comencé a leer mucho en internet y a explicarle a mis hijas y mi esposo que debíamos tener paciencia porque la forma como entró Fiu Fiu en casa no fue la más apropiada, según lo que iba leyendo, explicaban que cuando llevamos una nueva mascota a casa debemos preparar el terreno y presentarlos en un espacio neutro ya que son muy territoriales. Así que para mi fueron tres semanas muy fuertes porque no sólo debí lidiar con los perros, sino también con los demás miembros de mi familia para que no regañaran a Chloe.
El acuerdo que llegué con Agatha fue que no iba a pasar períodos largos fuera de casa hasta que Chloe y Fiu Fiu durmieran juntos, que cuando eso sucediera significaba que ya lo había aceptado y no había peligro de que Chloe lo maltratara, ya que ella es una perrita hiper activa y muy territorial.
Ese día por fin llegó después de un mes de duro proceso, y gracias a todas las recomendaciones de internet y la paciencia que tuvimos, para que aprendieran a respetar sus espacios, su plato de comida, comenzaron una linda convivencia y a quererse.
Now there are many moments that we share together, I already hug them both and play with them without this implying a war between them. She had already told them that from the first moment that Chloe arrived home, she felt that this was the place where she belongs, the same thing happened with Fiu Fiu. I don't know if it's my own thing, but I think there is a connection or it's something that fate has already decided that everyone is where and with whom she should be. And it is here, with our family, that Fiu Fiu and Chloe will be loved until God allows it, just as my Toky was. Ahora son muchos los momentos que compartimos juntos, ya los abrazo a los dos y juego con ellos sin que eso implique una guerra entre ambos. Ya les había contado que desde el primer momento que Chloe llegó a casa, se sintió que este era el sitio donde pertenece, igualmente sucedió con Fiu Fiu. No sé si serán cosas mías, pero creo que existe una conexión o es algo que el destino ya decidió que cada quien está donde y con quien debe estar. Y es aquí, con nuestra familia, que Fiu Fiu y Chloe serán amados hasta que Dios lo permita así como estuvo mi Toky. Todos en casa lo queremos, hasta Chloe 😁 pensé que sería un caso perdido pero como ves, si se logró la aceptación. De vez en cuando tienen sus peleas pero se quieren.

Eso hacemos en casa, ellos son más que mascotas, son miembros de mi familia. Cuando recibimos a Chloe en casa la recomendación de la amiga que la trajo que la dejarán en el patio de mi casa, que no la dejara entrar y de una vez le dije que ella no era para tenerla amarrada ni a la intemperie, que era para amarla.
