[ENG] A pleasure to greet you, Hive Pets community! Today I share with you 3 areas of Luna's body that I comb constantly and that help me keep her glamorous and healthy.
[ESP] ¡Un placer saludarles, comunidad de Hive Pets! Hoy les comparto 3 zonas del cuerpo de Luna que peino constantemente y que me ayudan a mantenerla glamorosa y saludable.
[ENG] Combing my dogs has always been important to me, especially since it is an activity that over time has become therapeutic for me and my dogs. And although I didn't notice it before, now I know that it is also something that can be classified as 'preventive medicine', since keeping our dogs groomed can prevent discomfort in their bodies.
[ESP] Peinar a mis perros siempre ha sido importante para mí, sobre todo porque es una actividad que con el tiempo se ha vuelto terapéutica para mí y para mis perros. Y aunque antes no lo notaba, ahora sé que además es algo que se puede catalogar como 'medicina preventiva', pues mantener a nuestros perros acicalados puede evitar malestares en sus cuerpos.
[ENG] The first area that I mention is the genital area, which includes the tail and the rear and inner parts of the hind legs of our dogs. This space is extremely important because in the fur that is located here there are usually remains of the physiological waste of our long-haired pets, and if we do not remove them frequently, this waste will begin to produce knots and these in turn will lodge more waste, until that finally an infection is generated, possibly urinary in the case of females. This is why it is important to keep this area as clean as possible and free of knots.
[ESP] La primera zona que les comento es la del área genital, que comprende la cola y las partes posterior e interna de las patas traseras de nuestros perros. Este espacio es sumamente importante porque en el pelaje que aquí se ubica suelen quedarse restos de los desechos fisiológicos de nuestras mascotas de pelo largo, y si no los removemos frecuentemente, estos desechos comenzarán a producir nudos y éstos a su vez alojarán más desechos, hasta que finalmente se genere una infección, posiblemente urinaria en el caso de las hembras. Por esto es importante mantener esta zona tan limpia como sea posible y libre de nudos.
[ENG] The second area to which I refer is the collar. Because the space occupied by the collar is usually pleasant for ectoparasites, and if it is not kept free of knots, the proliferation of fleas and ticks will be imminent. When we do not usually remove the collar of our pets and if it is kept too tight, a mark is created in the fur, in more severe cases hair loss or even the rubbing of the collar can cause neck injuries. For these reasons it is necessary to maintain this area, combing our dogs here can prevent injuries and the lodging of ectoparasites.
[ESP] La segunda zona a la que hago referencia es la del collar. Porque el espacio que ocupa el collar suele ser agradable para los ectoparasitos, y en caso de no mantenerse libre de nudos, la proliferación de pulgas y garrapatas será inminente. Cuando no solemos quitar el collar de nuestras mascotas y si éste se mantiene muy ajustado, se crea una marca en el pelaje, en casos más severos perdida del pelo o incluso el roce del collar puede producir heridas en el cuello. Por estas razones es necesario el mantenimiento de esta área, peinar a nuestros perros aquí puede evitarles heridas y el alojamiento de ectoparasitos.
[ENG] The third area that I recommend taking into account, every time we comb our long-haired dogs, is that of the ears, especially the area behind them, since knots in this area are usually uncomfortable for our pets, which can produce itching and irritation. Although in some cases the knots in the ears can look funny, because when they occur they look like small dreadlocks in our dogs, it is important not to allow them to occur because they quickly become a mass of dead hair that damages the skin and generates a new comfortable space for fleas and ticks.
[ESP] La tercera zona que recomiendo tener en cuenta, cada vez que peinamos a nuestros perros de pelo largo, es la de las orejas, especialmente el área posterior de ellas, pues suele ser incómodo para nuestras mascotas los nudos en esta área, lo que les puede producir comezón e irritamiento. Aunque en algunos casos pueden lucir graciosos los nudos en las orejas, pues cuando se producen parecen pequeños dreadlocks en nuestros perros, es importante no permitir que se produzcan porque rápidamente se transforman en una masa de pelo muerto que produce maltrato en la piel y generan un nuevo espacio cómodo para pulgas y garrapatas.
[ENG]A couple of tips so that combing our pets is effective for us and pleasant for them:
Avoid using metal brushes, because although they are very effective for untying our dogs' hair, they also tend to cause scratches and skin irritations
Comb your pet in the opposite direction to the natural fall of his hair 2 times for each time you do it in the same direction. This way you will reach all his hair and untying it will be much faster.
[ESP] Un par de consejos para que peinar a nuestras mascotas sea efectivo para nosotros y placentero para ellas:
Evita usar cepillos de metal, pues aunque son muy efectivos para desanudar el pelo de nuestros perros, también suele causar rasguños e irritaciones en la piel
Peina a tu mascota en sentido contrario a la caída natural de su pelo 2 veces por cada vez que lo hagas en el mismo sentido. Así llegarás a todo su pelo y desanudarlo será mucho más rápido.

Que buen tips para peinar y mantenerle un pelaje hermoso a los peluditos con bastante pelo. A muchos se les hace gromos de pelo si no lo sé hace con frecuencia. Que linda tu mascota, que bien siga cuidandola. Saludos

Me alegra que te haya parecido interesante el contenido! En algún momento yo también he sido el que permite que se hagan esos nudos en mis mascotas! 🤦🏻♂️ Pero, sin duda, es mucho más saludable y sencillo evitarlos peinándoles con frecuencia!
