A few days ago, I had to step out of the house to run some errands. It wasn’t for long, but when I came back, I walked into a scene that cracked me up: my cat was sitting on the window in the funniest way, like she had taken her “watch post.”

The funny thing is, it’s not the first time I’ve caught her like that. She’s been doing this ever since she moved in with me—always sitting there in that comical position😅. It’s as if she’s another neighbor on the block, like those ladies who put a chair outside their house just to chat, watch life go by, and not miss a single detail. Honestly, seeing her there, with that serious feline face, makes me think she’s analyzing everyone’s routine, like: “Uh-huh, the guy across the street is late again” or “That bag the neighbor’s carrying definitely came from the market.” 😂

What makes it even funnier is how seriously she takes it. She sits up straight, tail perfectly tucked in, eyes locked outside. Although this time, I actually caught a picture of her turning her head—because a lizard had just passed by above her. Lol

But this posture is basically her daily ritual. Sometimes I even sit next to her by the window, trying to see what she sees, wondering what exactly grabs her attention. Is it the birds flying by? The neighbor’s dogs sticking their heads out the windows too? Or just life itself? (years have gone by and I still haven’t figured it out😔).

At one point, I thought it was because of a little bird that definitely wasn’t her friend😅. It sounds crazy, but that bird used to dive straight at her whenever it had the chance. So I assumed she sat at the window trying to “hunt” the bird that lived in a nearby tree. But eventually, the bird moved away, and still—she kept her spot at the window. So, her little “enemy” wasn’t the reason after all.

That’s when I realized something: deep down, we all have a little “nosy neighbor” inside us, and my cat wears it proudly. She doesn’t need social media or TV, because her favorite entertainment is right there: the window. 🐾✨

Hola nuevamente, pequeñas personitas de esta linda comunidad. 💛

Hace unos días tuve que salir un rato de casa para hacer unas diligencias. No fue mucho tiempo, pero cuando regresé, me encontré con una escena que me dio muchísima risa: mi gatita estaba sentada en la ventana de una manera muy peculiar, como si estuviera ocupando su “puesto de vigilancia”.

Lo curioso es que no es la primera vez que la descubro así. Ella tiene esa costumbre desde que llegó a mi casa, el sentarse de esa manera tan cómica😅. Se acomoda como si fuera toda una vecina más de la cuadra, de esas señoras que sacan una sillita afuera de su casa para conversar, observar la vida de los demás y no perderse de ningún detalle. Les juro que verla así, con esa seriedad felina, me hace pensar que está analizando la rutina de los vecinos, como diciendo: “Ajá, el de la casa de enfrente llegó tarde otra vez” o “Esa bolsa que lleva la vecina seguro es del mercado”. 😂

Lo más gracioso es que ella se toma muy en serio ese momento. Se sienta erguida, cola perfectamente acomodada y la mirada fija hacia afuera. Aunque, en esta oportunidad, tomé una foto justo donde desvía su mirada para ver una lagartija que pasaba sobre ella jajsja.

Pero, esta postura es como su ritual diario. A veces, desde dentro de mi casa, también me pongo junto a ella en la ventana, para ver si logro observar lo mismo que ella, tratando de entender qué le llamará tanto la atención: Si son los pájaros que pasan volando, los perros de los vecinos que también se asoman por las ventanas, o simplemente la vida misma (han pasado años y aún no descubro qué es lo que observa😔).

Hasta incluso pensé que era porque había un pajarito, que no era muy amigo de ella😅. Tanto así, que incluso intentaba lanzarse encima de la gatita (suena loco, pero es así). Entonces, creía que se sentaba en la ventana, como intentando cazar al pajarito que la molestaba y vivía en un árbol muy cerca de ahí, pero, con los años, el pajarito se mudó y ella sigue estando en la ventana, entonces, su amienemigo no era la razón por la cual ella estaba ahí sentada.

Por lo que llegué a la conclusión de que, en el fondo, todos tenemos un poquito de “vecina chismosa” dentro de nosotros, y mi gata lo lleva con orgullo jajaja. Ella no necesita redes sociales ni televisión, porque su entretenimiento favorito está justo ahí: la ventana.🐾✨
