They will probably work it out.
I have two cats and one dog who, as a puppy, acted very much like your to the cats. One of them, the female, let the dog have it, and that was that. The dog keeps her distance. But the male, my Freddy, simply can't be quite vicious enough. Hissing doesn't stop the dog from getting right on top of Freddy and not letting him move. I have to rescue his by grabbing the dog's collar. Or I let them do it. I honestly can't always be sure that Freddy doesn't enjoy the attention he gets from the dog.

I think the cat may not enjoy it, but he certainly refuses to be cowed. He'll stand within a few feet of the dog and almost tease him. Scary to watch though.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoying my pet saga. I actually feel privileged at this stage in life to be able to enjoy these lovely animals. My daughter has the hard work (I only clean cat litter when she's on vacation😁). My husband and I get mostly fun, as grandparents usually do.
