Every day is a new opportunity to take a step for what you want. Today, I present to you a series of photographs of Pelussa, my cat.
Cada día es una nueva oportunidad para dar un paso por lo que quieres. Hoy, les presento una serie de fotografías de Pelussa, mi gato.
Mornings for me start around 6:00 am to 8:00 am, although it is variable, because some days I usually wake up by the alarm earlier, or maybe later because I go to bed almost in the in the early morning.
Las mañanas para mí comienzan alrededor de las 6:00 am a 8:00 am, aunque es variable, porque algunos días suelo despertar por la alarma más temprano, o quizá más tarde porque me acuesto casi en la madrugada.
Pelussa has always been an early wake-up cat. He also has rewarding moments, like his blessed sunbathing time, from the balcony. A few days ago, something happened that changed Pelussa's life, which showed that he is growing and becoming even though he doesn't show it, because it doesn't look like a big transition, as he is always thin.
Pelussa siempre ha sido un gato que despierta temprano. También tiene momentos gratificantes, como su bendita hora del tomar el sol, desde el balcón. Hace unos días, sucedió algo que cambió la vida de Pelussa, que demostró que está creciendo y se está convirtiendo pese a que no lo demuestra, porque no se ve una gran transición, al ser siempre de contextura delgado.
A new day was starting, the sun was shining, the clouds were passing slowly, an arepa was cooking and the smell was impregnating my nostrils, while I was finishing a text I had pending, I decided to take a few minutes of my morning to rest, because it is incredible, sometimes we take a lot of time in activities that are of great importance, we want to finish them, but we give so much in it, that we do not take a reasonable time to rest, because after all, if we rest a few minutes, drink water, look at something else, we clear a little bit.
Un nuevo día empezaba, el sol brillaba, las nubes pasaban lentamente, una arepa se cocinaba y el olor impregnaba de lleno mis fosas nasales, mientras terminaba un texto que tenía pendiente, decidí tomar unos minutos de mi mañana para descansar, porque es increíble, a veces tomamos muchísimo tiempo en actividades que son de gran relevancia, queremos terminarlas, pero damos tanto en ello, que tampoco tomamos un tiempo prudente para descansar, porque al fin y al cabo, si descansamos unos minutos, tomamos agua, miramos otra cosa, nos despejamos un poquito.
I took a few minutes to take a break, then I would continue, I thought. While drinking a glass with fresh water, I looked out from the balcony of my home, as I live on the second floor. I heard some meows full of fear, something normal, because there are a lot of cats that frequent my yard, who have fights at night and among them is Pelussa. The thing is that what I least expected, happened, it was Pelussa who meowed with fear, looking at me from the highest he could climb the avocado tree with distrust.
Dispuse unos minutos para tomar un descanso, luego seguiría, pensé. Mientras tomaba un vaso con agua fresca, me asomé por el balcón que hay en mi hogar, pues vivo en una segunda planta. Escuché unos maullidos cargados de miedo, algo normal, porque hay gran cantidad de gatos que frecuentan mi patio, que tienen peleas en las noches y entre ellas está Pelussa. El caso es que lo que menos me esperaba, sucedió, era Pelussa quien maullaba con miedo, me miraba desde lo más alto que podía subir al árbol de aguacate con desconfianza.
How had Pelussa gotten up there? I laughed to myself.
¿Cómo había subido Pelussa ahí? Me reí para mis adentros.
Just look how far he climbed up the avocado tree.
Solamente miren hasta donde escaló en el árbol de aguacate.
The thing that surprised me the most was that since he was a baby, Pelussa hardly ever meowed. Over time, I have instilled in him to meow when I call him to eat. However, he is a reserved cat, he meows as much as necessary.
Lo que más me extrañaba era que desde bebé, Pelussa casi nunca maullaba. Con el tiempo, he inculcado que maúlle, cuando lo llamo para comer. No obstante, es un gato reservado, maúlla lo necesario.
Pelussa looked in all directions, frightened. Surely some cat wanted to bother him or start a fight over a female cat in the community.
Pelussa miraba hacia todas las direcciones, asustado. Seguramente algún gato quiso molestarlo o armar una pelea por alguna gata de la comunidad.
After a few minutes he started to come down, because I went to where he was.
Al cabo de unos minutos empezó a bajar, porque fui hasta donde él estaba.
When he saw me he became more confident, he came more relaxed. I checked him and noticed wet hairs, as if some cat had bitten him.
Al verme tomó más confianza, vino más tranquilo. Lo revisé y noté pelos humedecidos como si algún gato lo había mordido.
A few nights ago, I heard a loud discord between cats, in which Pelussa got hurt, he had open wounds near his tail that were bleeding, he looked weaker, and you don't know how worried I was. I checked his wounds again and they are already very well healed. He is getting better!
Hace unas noches, escuché una fuerte discordia entre gatos, en la cual Pelussa salió herido, tenía cerca de la cola heridas abiertas que sangraban, se veía más débil, y no saben cómo me sentí de preocupada. Le revisé otra vez las heridas y ya están muy cicatrizadas. ¡Ya está mejorando!
He let me pet him for a while and then followed me.
Me dejó acariciarlo un rato y luego me siguió.
Pelussa sends you with the smallest tone of voice he has, lots and lots of greetings full of Meoww!
