🇪🇸 ~ Lo lamento mucho, hoy no tengo tutoriales o manualidades lindas para compartir. Ayer por la noche mi minino Apollo tuvo una fiebre alta, se veía incomodo e inquieto mientras trataba de dormir, y su patita delantera derecha estaba inflamada desde el día jueves. Como se ha vuelto rebelde con la llegada de la temprana adultez felina (su edad es de 1 año y 2 meses), se pone de muy mal humor si no lo dejo salir de la casa algunas veces al día... y eso termino muy mal porque mi gatito color heladito es bastante busca pleitos y se peleó con un gato mucho más grande y pesado que él, un vecino fue el que los separó y trajo a Apollo a casa.
🇺🇸 ~ I'm so sorry, I don't have any cute tutorials or crafts to share today. Last night my kitty Apollo had a high fever, he looked uncomfortable and restless while trying to sleep, and his right front paw was swollen since Thursday. As he has become rebellious with the arrival of early feline adulthood (his age is 1 year and 2 months), he gets very cranky if I don't let him out of the house a few times a day... and that ended very badly because my ice-cream colored kitty is quite a troublemaker and got into a fight with a much bigger and heavier cat than him, a neighbor was the one who separated them and brought Apollo home.

Toda mi vida he cuidado de perros. No sé nada sobre gatos más allá de los cuidados más básicos. Siempre quise cuidar de un gato pero mi familia los detesta y nunca me permitieron traer uno a casa. Ya como adulta, Apollo es 1 de los 5 gatos que cuido como hogar de paso (quisiera quedarme con todos, pero nuevas circunstancias de salud creo que me obligaran a buscarles una nueva familia, espero no tener que llegar a eso porque los amo mucho). Estas fotos de él acostado las tomé ayer por la tarde cuando note que la hinchazón en su pata había crecido.
I have cared for dogs all my life. I know nothing about cats beyond the most basic care. I always wanted to take care of a cat but my family hates them and never allowed me to bring one home. As an adult, Apollo is 1 of the 5 cats I take care of as a foster home (I would like to keep all of them, but new health circumstances will force me to find a new family for them, I hope it won't come to that because I love them so much). I took these pictures of him lying down yesterday afternoon when I noticed that the swelling on his paw had grown.

Pensé que la inflamación se debía a que estaba magullado por la pelea con el otro gato a finales de la semana pasada, pero investigando mejor la posibilidad de una fisura en sus huesos o un absceso, se volvió inminente una visita con urgencia al veterinario. Además Apollo es un gatito de carácter muy dulce, le encantan los mimos y que lo lleven en brazos, es un consentido, pero ayer en la noche se quejó mucho cuando tocaba su patita al cargarlo, y eso me rompió el corazón, el darme cuenta de quién sabe cuántos dias tuvo dolor y yo no supe detectarlo antes. De nuevo, soy muy nueva en esto y tengo muchisimo que aprender para que mi ignorancia no mal afecte a los mininos que cuido.
I thought the swelling was because he was bruised from the fight with the other cat at the end of last week, but upon further investigation of the possibility of a crack in his bones or an abscess, an urgent visit to the vet became imminent. Also Apollo is a very sweet-natured kitty, he loves cuddles and being carried, he is a spoiled brat, but last night he complained a lot when I touched his paw while carrying him, and that broke my heart, realizing who knows how many days he was in pain and I didn't know how to detect it before. Again, I am very new at this and I have a lot to learn so that my ignorance doesn't affect the kitties I take care of.

Una amiga muy querida de la familia me ayudo a agendar el transporte para las 10 am de hoy y tambien me acompañó hasta la clínica (lo aprecio un universo, ella es un ser gentil muy especial). Lamentablemente el kennel para gatos que tenia se rompió, pero una vecina nos prestó una cesta para ropa que funcionó muy bien para trasladar a Apollo, del que estoy súper orgullosa porque en la espera de su cita con el doctor se comportó muy bien, no trato de salirse de la cesta y fue muy cariñoso con quienes se acercaron a saludarlo. Francamente estaba preocupada porque al final de la noche anterior, pude drenar un poco su lesión, que al final sí era un absceso, esperando que eso aliviara un poco su incomodidad y le bajara la fiebre... pero se alteró muchisimo y estaba realmente enojado; más adelante me explicaron que era una reacción normal en los gatos cuando tenían mucho dolor (tengo experiencia limpiando heridas y abscesos en perros, no en gatos).
A very dear friend of the family helped me to schedule the transport for 10 am today and also accompanied me to the clinic (I appreciate it a lot, she is a very special gentle being). Unfortunately the cat kennel I had broke, but a neighbor lent us a laundry basket that worked very well to transport Apollo, who I am very proud of because while waiting for his doctor's appointment he behaved very well, he didn't try to get out of the basket and was very affectionate with those who came to greet him. Frankly I was worried because at the end of last night, I was able to drain a little bit of his lesion, which in the end was an abscess, hoping that this would relieve his discomfort and lower his fever... but he got very upset and was really angry; later they explained to me that this was a normal reaction in cats when they were in a lot of pain (I have experience cleaning wounds and abscesses in dogs, not in cats).

Tuvimos que esperar bastante porque ya había varios pacientes en cola, pero la espera fuera agradable y Apollo se había recostado cómodamente en la cobijita que le dimos dentro de su cesta. La clínica tiene una pequeña recepción con varios asientos cómodos, buena ventilación y un ambiente realmente limpio, tranquilo y muy agradable en general, tambien tenía decoraciones simpáticas. Cuando fue el turno de Apollo para ser atendido, el doctor se comportó maravillosamente con él y nos explicó con detalle y tranquilidad cuál era su cuadro, dándome distintas opciones de tratamiento para escoger. De entre todos, escogí que a Apollo se le hiciera un drenaje del absceso pero bajo efectos de sedantes, inyecciones de antibiótico y analgésico, y un curetaje además de su respectiva consulta. Asombrosamente todo salio en 41$, pensé que sería mucho más costoso por la calidad del servicio.
We had to wait a long time because there were already several patients in line, but the wait was pleasant and Apollo was lying comfortably in the blanket we gave him in his basket. The clinic has a small reception area with several comfortable seats, good ventilation and a really clean, quiet and very pleasant atmosphere in general, it also had nice decorations. When it was Apollo's turn to be seen, the doctor behaved wonderfully with him and explained in detail and calmly what his condition was, giving me different treatment options to choose from. From all of them, I chose to have Apollo's abscess drained but under sedation, antibiotic and analgesic injections, and a curettage in addition to his respective consultation. Surprisingly everything came out at $41, I thought it would be much more expensive for the quality of the service.

Apollo reacciono bien a la anestesia, no vómito y mi amiga y yo coincidimos en que algo que nos gustó mucho, es que el doctor veterinario se tomó su tiempo para hacer todo con calma, nada de prisas, además de que aplicaba las inyecciones en las patas traseras, en lugar del lomo (parece que ese método ahora es contra indicado) y Apollo en ningún momento se quejó ni lloró. Yo me aleje un poco para tomar estas fotos porque mi mamá estaba muy preocupada y quería saber cómo iba todo con Apolito. Cuando terminó de drenar el absceso y todo el procedimiento de medicamentos y vendaje, me entrego el récipe con los medicamentos extra que necesitaría y me explicó cómo serían los cuidados en casa.
Apollo reacted well to the anesthesia, he did not vomit and my friend and I agreed that something that we liked a lot, is that the vet doctor took his time to do everything calmly, no rushing, plus he gave the injections in the back legs, instead of the back (it seems that this method is now contraindicated) and Apollo never complained or cried at any time. I stepped back a little to take these pictures because my mom was very worried and wanted to know how everything was going with Apolito. When she finished draining the abscess and all the medication and bandaging procedure, she gave me the receipt with the extra medications he would need and explained me how he would be taken care of at home.

Es la primera vez que visito esta clínica veterinaria y estoy muy agradecida por cómo trataron a Apollo, también tiene una farmacia interna surtida y precios accesibles, todos fueron muy amables y las energias del lugar eran amistosas y apacibles, cosa difícil de conseguir en sitios que tienen que ver con la salud. En las últimas fotos de este bloque pueden ver a Apolito aún bajo los efectos de los medicamentos, pero entre los 30 y 40 min comenzó a reaccionar.
It is the first time I visit this veterinary clinic and I am very grateful for how they treated Apollo, they also have a stocked in-house pharmacy and affordable prices, everyone was very kind and the energies of the place were friendly and gentle, which is hard to find in places that have to do with health. In the last pictures of this block you can see Apolito still under the effects of the medications, but after 30 to 40 minutes he started to react.

Mientras esperábamos el taxi para volver a casa pudimos conversar un poco con otras personas que esperaban cita para sus mascotas. Fue asombroso ver a este hermoso Akita Americano de 8 meses tan de cerca, es un perro de aspecto muy hermoso, pero tambien imponente, su dueño era un chico muy agradable que nos dio permiso de tomarle algunas fotografías, ese rostro era demasiado impresionante en persona. Esperamos se recupere pronto, tiene parvovirus y nos explicaron que hay una ola de esa enfermedad en la ciudad.
While we were waiting for the cab to go back home we were able to talk a little bit with other people who were waiting for an appointment for their pets. It was amazing to see this beautiful 8 month old American Akita so close, he is a very beautiful looking dog, but also imposing, his owner was a very nice guy who gave us permission to take some pictures of him, that face was too impressive in person. We hope he recovers soon, he has parvovirus and they explained to us that there is a wave of that disease in the city.

Fue una gran bendición que la clínica tuviera todo lo necesario para los cuidados de Apollo en su propia farmacia, y así como el tratamiento en la clínica, los medicamentos tuvieron un costo mucho más económico de lo que pensaba, crei que todo sería más costoso, pero la factura fue de 26$.
It was a great blessing that the clinic had everything needed for Apollo's care in their own pharmacy, and as well as the treatment at the clinic, the medications were much cheaper than I thought, I thought everything would be more expensive, but the bill was $26.
El mes pasado tuve en casa una emergencia veterinaria además de la contratación de servicios a domicilio que tuvo un costo de poco más de 300$, y tambien como el mes está terminando he pagado muchas cosas en casa, asi que el día de hoy no contaba con todo el efectivo que me hubiera gustado para cuidar a Apollo. Afortunadamente tenía acumuladas algunas recompensas en Hive y HBD en la cuenta y lo cambié todo para ayudar con las facturas de Apollo. Muchísimas gracias a todos los que apoyan mi contenido y recomiendan, votan y comentan mis publicaciones, porque eso me ayudo hoy a que la visita de Apolito de emergencia con el doctor fluyera sin problemas. Last month I had a veterinary emergency at home as well as hiring home services which cost a little over $300, and also as the month is ending I have paid for a lot of things at home, so today I didn't have as much cash as I would have liked to take care of Apollo. Fortunately I had some Hive and HBD rewards accumulated in the account and I cashed it all in to help with Apollo's bills. Thank you so much to everyone who supports my content and recommends, votes and comments on my posts, because that helped Apolito's emergency visit with the doctor go smoothly today. Mientras termino de escribir esta nota son las 11:42 pm y estamos muy cansados. Apolito ya despertó completamente de los medicamentos (ya no camina como borrachito) ha tomado aguita y cenado, y vamos a dormir. Ha sido un día estresante pero por sobre todo, siento mucha paz y gratitud, en mi camino siempre hay ángeles que me cuidan, acompañan y socorren aunque yo no diga nada y trate de hacerme cargo de las cosas yo sola (una vieja y persistente costumbre). Espero todos estén bien y a salvo, y tengan un tranquilo y dulce fin de semana 🐈 💕
As I finish writing this note it is 11:42 pm and we are very tired. Apolito is fully awake from his meds (he no longer walks like a drunkard), he has had water and dinner, and we are going to sleep. It has been a stressful day but above all, I feel a lot of peace and gratitude, in my way there are always angels that take care of me, accompany me and help me even if I don't say anything and try to take care of things by myself (an old and persistent habit).
