Two houses down the road there was a change of tenant last weekend. The elderly lady has moved back in with her family and the new tenants have two dogs. Dogs that are not familiar with the customs here. They immediately got into a fight with the cat living there and won. Since then she has been sitting here in our backyard.
She was actually lucky, if you look at her bite wounds. But she's still homeless now and is with us because word has certainly gotten around in the cat community that our three cats let pretty much anyone into their food bowls, whether it's young dogs, wild chickens or poisonous toads.
She is still just watching the goings-on in our backyard. But now she even talks to me and lets me touch her.
She'll be fine, I think. And with her we will have 6 mother cats. Maybe I should learn how to sterilize cats, because there's no vet here.
