It is named after one of the most famous Ancient Indian mathematician , Aryabhata. What we know from history is that he was bown during the 5th century AD.

The satellite was built by ISRO on 19th April 1975 and was launched by the Russians from Kapustin Yar.

The satellite was built for the scientific experiment and weight around 360 kgs. It was supporting the power of approximately 46 Watts.

The estimated life for the mission was around six months where as the orbital life was noticed to be approx 17 years as the satellite was re entered in the year 1992 and that is aprox 17 years.

Well the truth is that four days from the day of launch there was a power failure in the orbit.
Also after five days all the signals to the satellite was lost in the orbit and after that the satellite entered the earth in the year 1992 i.e after 17 years.

So yes it is true that the first satellite by India was not a successful one.

It was really hard for me to research on the topic and after that writing on it as well. There were all the technical terms but i chose to write the normal facts about the satellite that can be well understood by everyone.

I hope that my post was informative.

Thank you.
