The problem with centralized social media platforms which can also be referred to as web2 internet is based on the fact that no matter the kind of work you put into create content on these platforms the end of taking control, making you dependent on them before being rewarded for your hard work.
So, unlike hive blockchain which is a decentralized platform is quite different from centralized platform in the sense that it allows freedom over Control, members are allowed to express themselves freely although void of explicit and demeaning content, but people can virtually talk about anything without getting their accounts taken away from them suddenly like centralized platforms do.
Another major difference between hive and other centralized social media platforms like Instagram tiktok Facebook or YouTube is the fact that Hive blockchain has the sense of community and ownership rather than dependency and corporation.
My point is, on centralized platforms the accounts you create are not entirely your own because when you build up that account for a specific number of years you grow your followers and post content regularly, it may disappear at any time maybe due to violation or if the company decides to change their rules or corporation.
However, on hive reverses the case because your account is only accessible to you as it is secureed by private keys that was given when you were registering on the platform. Your content and blogs are permanently stored on the blockchain and they cannot be deleted or removed by a central body that proves to be in control. The summary of this is that there is no middle man to interfere with your earnings or your content on hive blockchain.
Another sin that differentiates hive from other centralized platform is the community governance that runs via the decentralized governance model on hive, a system that allows the community to decide how the blockchain grows and develops, this decision is taken by the holders of the liquid hive token and they are given the opportunity to vote on proposes and projects that would make the Hive platform grow more .
This is not so in centralized platforms as one CEO has to make all the decisions not minding how it would affect its users. These goes to show that power is in only one hand as against hive blockchain where power is distributed.
Lastly, one thing that is sure on high blockchain is that you would be rewarded for your efforts and hard work if you follow the rules. Unlike Centralized platforms where you can post get millions of likes but still you would earn nothing on hive it is sure that your creativity will bring value and earn you liquid hive token or hbd which is gotten via upvotes and curation rewards.
Hive has a promising future for global creators who are looking for a platform to pilut their contents out there especially in a space with less restrictions. Although the platform still needs awareness but it has done a great job in empowering people so far.
