Hive platform is a web 3.0 platform, and decentralization is the beauty of it. It’s natural for Hive users to think that it is the best platform. In fact, they are here because they think it’s the best one. Comparing Hive platform with other social media platforms is not justified. Hive platform and other social media platforms are at different levels. Comparison should be made at an equal level. Instead, it’s necessary to compare to understand which is better. Just by saying, nothing can be proved. It must be logical. For example of other social media platforms, Facebook, X (current name of Twitter), and YouTube seem ideal, and all of those are very popular at the present time.

X (Twitter) is one of the most popular social media platforms, and so I am starting with X. Almost all the celebrities and businessmen use it, and it can create a huge influence on others. A few months ago, I logged in to one of my X accounts after a long time. Login attempt was successful, but when I tried to make a post and reply got a notification that making post and reply is restricted from that account. The authority didn’t inform me why my actions were restricted, and the surprising thing is that there was no activity in my account for four to six months. It gave me a very annoying feeling, and I felt like I was just a spectator there who could only see but couldn’t say anything. So, X authority can restrict my actions anytime by saying an excuse of violating rules and regulations or for something related to privacy issue. It’s known to all that the X account of the current US president was banned in 2021. It’s indeed hard to imagine such a thing happened, and that forced me to think even Trump’s account could face such a situation. Compared to him, restricting my actions is not so surprising either.
Facebook is another popular social media at the present time, and its popularity is increasing day by day. Many people in my country choose Facebook to promote their business. A few years ago, Facebook didn’t offer so many opportunities like now. At the present time, Facebook is trying to bring out digital content creators and offer them ways to earn money by sharing content. I appreciate the idea, and it is a sign of growth, but the majority of Facebook users don’t know how to take advantage of it. In fact, most people choose Facebook from wasting their precious time. It does not mean Facebook does not have any negative side. Facebook never gave us full control of our accounts, and our Facebook activity can be restricted. Even Facebook authority can delete our post. We are not allowed to share links in Facebook post,s which is quite annoying. It doesn’t matter if the link is important or not. For the sake of so-called popularity and fame, many people are showing their talents on Facebook and they are not getting paid for it. And the most irritating part of Facebook is that it steals data from user devices for different purposes, and I experienced it personally, and I am very much sure about it.
Let’s talk about YouTube, which has been popular for a long time. I think there are very few people who don’t like YouTube and don’t use it. I also like it. But I must say the ads are quite irritating, and I need to buy premium subscriptions if I want to enjoy ad-free service. YouTube also restricts our actions. We are not allowed to share anything that we want. I think it’s ok to have some restrictions to protect from evil content. In recent times, many crypto influencers, specifically from Asia, received many warnings from YouTube saying they violated rules and regulations. It’s like there is a force that doesn’t want Asian people getting educated in the crypto field. Crypto influencers should have the right to share their thoughts openly even if it’s something against cryptocurrency. Giving them warning means is one kind of threatening them. I didn’t expect such an action from YouTube, but it happened and that also made me remember that YouTube also belongs to web 2.0 and doesn’t give us full power/control of our account.
And finally, it’s time to talk about Hive platform, and I already said that it is a decentralized platform, and here our account fully belongs to us and gives us complete control over our account. We can share anything we want, and nobody can restrict us, it doesn’t matter if it’s something other people don’t like. Nobody can remove my content from the blockchain. I know in some communities they require verification, which is somehow conflicting with decentralization, but I think they have their concern, but it’s not necessarily for one to publish post there. Again, most of the authors are getting paid for the time they are giving here, although at the beginning, one may need to struggle a little bit. It can be considered as the test of patience because Hive platform is not for short-sighted people. In Hive platform, almost all kinds of stills and talents can be displayed. Instead of there are many ongoing projects which can be ideal for investing.

Something that happened to me with Facebook was that I deleted my first account I created. I had several pages on it, but I didn't meet a few of the requirements for monetizing. The bad thing is that since I've had violations for using bad language on my main account, it automatically removes the ability to monetize any pages linked to that account.
The same thing has happened to me twice with X, so freedom of expression doesn't exist there. Except for certain groups.
That's the reason I don't like other social media except the Hive platform. I believe that with time, people will know what is best.
