The application that takes most of my time is the Microsoft package, especially Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. I use them almost every day, both on my laptop and sometimes on my phone, but mostly on my laptop. These applications have become part of my daily life because of the kind of work I do.

The reason I spend so much time on Microsoft Word and Excel is mainly because I run a cyber café business. I started this business while I was still in school. Back then, many students bring to me their typing, printing, and online works. Because of the relationships I built with students during that time, even after graduating from school, many of them still reach out to me for their work. They send their assignments, projects, and school work to me online for me to run it for them through WhatsApp or email.

Microsoft Word is the application I use the most. I use it for typing assignments, project work, seminar papers, and other school documents. Almost every day, I open Word to work on something new. Sometimes I am typing from scratch, other times I am editing work that students have already done. I format documents, arrange them properly, adjust spacing, and make sure the work looks neat and presentable. Most times people especially students download documents online or do a copy an paste work without editing it. Most of these documents have different font size, different writing style. So they send it to me and I do a proper formatting and arrangements so that the work can look neat and presentable. Using Microsoft word now feels very normal to me, like writing in a notebook.

Apart from students, some people also bring their work to me at home. Business documents, letters, or personal files they want typed or corrected. So my laptop is always close to me, and Microsoft Word is usually the first application I open in the morning and one of the last I close at night.

Microsoft Excel also takes my time, especially when I am doing data related work. I use Excel a lot when carrying out data analysis. I use Excel to enter data collected from questionnaires. I arrange the data into rows and columns so it can be easy to understand and to do further analysis. I use Excel to do calculation alot. When I want to compare results, Excel helps me do that quickly. I use it to create tables and charts to present information in a clear and understandable form.

Apart from my cyber café work, I also use Microsoft Word a lot in the school where I teach. I use it to type school programs, official reports, meeting minutes, and examination questions. Anytime there is something that needs to be documented or printed, Microsoft Word is always what I use. I rarely have a day when I don’t open the application at least once. I use Excel to record students’ termly assessments and scores. I use it to arrange students’ results and calculate their totals and averages. I also use Excel to keep records of the school’s income and expenditure, such as school fees and other payments that come into the school. Teachers’ salary records and other expenses incurred by the school are also kept using Excel.

On a personal level, I use Excel for data analysis work. I use it to enter data collected from questionnaires, organize them into rows and columns, and make sense of the information. I also use it to calculate percentages, totals, and averages. When I want to compare data or present it in a clear way, Excel helps me do that easily. Using Excel saves time and reduces mistakes, especially when dealing with large amounts of data.

Spending so much time on these applications has affected my daily life in different ways. On the positive side, they help me earn a living, improve my skills, and stay productive. People depend on me for help, and that gives me a sense of responsibility. However, it also means I spend long hours sitting in front of a screen, which can be tiring sometimes.

Personally, I like Excel because it makes work faster and more organized. Instead of calculating everything by hand, Excel helps me reduce stress and save time. Even though it can be confusing at first, the more I use it, the more confident I become.

Spending so much time on these applications has affected my daily life in different ways. On the positive side, it has helped me build skills and earn a living. It keeps me productive and focused. I feel useful knowing that people depend on me for help. However, it also means that I spend a lot of time sitting down and staring at a screen. Sometimes I get tired, and I have to remind myself to rest or take breaks.

In the end, Microsoft Word and Excel are not just applications to me. They are tools that support my work, my business, and my daily routine. Even though they take most of my time, they have also helped shape who I am and what I do today.
