In as much as Lewis Coser said that "Conflict is a normal and inevitable part of human interaction", it is worthy of note that conflict not well managed is like a time bomb waiting to explode. And when a little conflict escalate, it might turn to something tragic and painful, just like war and other inhuman treatment.
Just as we keep hearing war today between different countries, if we trace back you will find out that maybe it started as a result of a little misunderstanding that the both parties would have settled without fight or serious problem, but they choose to show power and innocent people keep losing their lives. War can be as a result of boundary dispute, fighting for natural resources, power tussle and lots more. War brings a lot of destructions, killings, suffering and as a result of these , it should be avoided. But in the other hand conflict is a bit okay because it helps people and government know where they are lacking behind and what needs to be fixed, since a lot of people express their anger only by conflict. Again, we might never appreciate and know the importance of peace without war. That's why people who have seen war or have experience war before will tell you that they don't wish their enemy such experience. You will always hear them say that the worse form of democracy is better than a military government.
Which is why we should try as much as possible to promote peace and stay in peace. To enhance peace countries or parties involve in conflict, fights and war should come together , sit back discuss and come to agreement. This is called negotiation or using dialogue.
Mediation is another way of bringing in peace. Here a neutral group , body or persons can step in to help both sides reach agreement. Countries can work to rebuild trust and address past grievances. and also pass the information to their citizens.
At times avoidance can also help. Most of the time, we tend to fight for everything. We should always learn to avoid some issues. Formal agreement to end war and embrace peace should be reached by the countries and this alone can go a long way to solve the issues.
