Hello Hive friends and community 💕❤.
Without thinking we all know how fun 🤩 the social medias are , the so called Web2 platforms, and we can all agree that being on there can keep us hooked especially if we have friends we have connected to. The Instagram, YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, Linked inn , Telegram and the crazy 😝 TikTok the most talked about . But the first question we must asked ourselves is “what have we gained in them”
All that are involved in this centralized platforms is how we waste money 💰 consuming data, wasting our precious time, consuming some irrelevant contents and at the same time enriching others who has been able to monetize in one way or the other.
The only good thing with centralized platforms is that it only favors those who has asserted themselves on there , making money 💰 from their businesses like the WhatsApp where people advertise businesses of all kinds and make sure to connect with friends to patronize them. The Instagram, a place where those with huge followers keeps earning because they market all kinds of products and will lieu their followers to buy so they can get their percentage. Facebook mostly for friends to connect and chat 💬 from time to time, Telegram for messaging, Linked Inn professionally for White - Collar jobs . I see the “YouTube” as the only centralized platform that is different from all these other platforms because of the way YouTube has enriched so many people and that is why it is not just an easy place or platform to be.
The YouTube platform is a place of hard work 😓 and which is the only way one as a YouTuber can be able to amass stated “Subscribers” called followers in other words , and stated watched hours of views on each content that will make you gradually get to monetize before YouTube will start paying you as a YouTuber. Although some YouTubers can be of luck or lucky with the kinds of contents they put out to their subscribers, making them go viral for quick monetization. So it could be called through “Hard Work” or “Luck “.
The only centralized platform I was involved with is the WhatsApp because its s place for easy way of contacts, especially that of group communication among friends, a means I use to reach out to my clients, work colleagues and church groups. I have used WhatsApp for years now. Another of this centralized platform I got involved with is the Instagram. Instagram is s place where “Fashion” is a thing. And because I love fashion as a “Fashionista “, Instagram became a place for me to put out my fashion sense and also copy styling from others.
But then in mid - year 2022 my younger daughter @chel-koby introduced me to Hive. I use to see play some games on Splinterland and it looked so wonderful and magical that I wanted to know more. And that was how I became a Hive family. Firstly, it appeared to me like a place and decentralized platform that I could not fit into due how there so many communities here with different vibes. But my daughter encouraged me since she knows my love for community engagements. Then gradually, I began to explore every community that to know where I will fit into. Wanted to understand more of this one place where I could create contents and will earn for it. It was hard initially to understand , but time proved me wrong because I today I see Hive as one platform that is so great. A place where there are many opportunities and value as far as one is able to put in a quality work.
Hive is the only place I see as a virtual home with people who value and support the work we do . A place to belong with multiple creativity, awareness and ownership. I can have access to any community I want to share my content as far as am meeting up with the rules as stipulated. And with my personal account, all my contents published on hive belongs to me. Everyone here see themselves as a member of hive and as long as you keep active, your years are counting with your level of interactions and activities.
How about all the tokens here on hive. I have never seen any other platform with token. Each and ever community has a token of rewards. A token that can be staked for future use. Its thrilling how this platform works because every upvote puts extra energy on the content creator to do more better things here on hive. This can never be compared to other platforms where people just wast their time, money and energy.
However, am proud 🥲 of hive communities where everyone as a member is recognized. Its a great encouragement because that is the motivation that makes people to stay here on hive. Despite that sometimes chips are low here on hive, making upvote and earnings bad, but better days will still come back. These are all sacrifices we need to do.I will never compare any centralized platform to Hive where online is worth being on.
