Most times we just have to motivate ourselves to do the unthinkable. Life is just not a bed of roses every time I think about it because life has its ups and downs. The way you feel about it will determine how it will respond to you. Sometimes, I have sat and wondered how life would have been if there was no invention of technology and how the olden days people really enjoyed their lives back then. Was it that there was no technology, or did technology just decide not to come in those days? But from my knowledge, I knew there was technology, but it might not be as advanced as what we have today.
I was just indoors this morning, and some thoughts came into my mind, and I wondered how life has been in the past. What brought this thought was me imagining how those that sought jobs back then felt. Going from one company to another and still getting turned down. In the sun, walking lots of miles and not getting jobs. Now imagine someone in this century who will be in their house and apply to different companies. Now things have even gotten better and you can even work from the convenience of your room and still be getting paid.
Even with the lots of turn-downs you will get, you will still be assured that you still have better days ahead because one day, your time will also come. Compared to walking round the street hunting for jobs. Most people that even apply for some job will also do the interview from their room and finalize everything about the work they want to do while in their house. This is a kind of good improvement from technology, as it has really helped the masses. I just can't imagine waking up very early in the morning, fully dressed, and going in search of jobs in the hot weather and still getting declined. This feels so bad.
Another aspect of this recent time that baffles me is that, when you try to apply for some type of job, you hear the employer saying that they want people with about 5 or more years of experience. Imagine you as a fresh graduate that knows about that same thing, but you do not have an idea of that length, but you still can work even more than someone that has that length of experience because you have hands-on experience.
Applying for that type of job will be very hard because they will not believe in you at all, and they will want you to prove yourself. Proving yourself to some people will mean you will work yourself out to some extent before they can truly believe you can do what you claim to do. This should not be the case because every year, students are graduating from different institutions, both at home and abroad, and many are really relying on jobs that are available. There should be proper arrangements for these sets of students so that they will not be jobless. Well, fine, not everyone can work in a government parastatta and not everyone can be a business tycoon but still these arrangements can still be made and now just collecting from those who doesn't have. In the end, my thought is that, everyone should try to be useful for themselves, because life is changing and advancing everyday.
