Having the opportunity to turn back the hands of time to the age when we were all growing up, just to see if we could amend some decisions we made and do some vital things differently, is something that every one of us has wished for at one point or another. If I could talk to my younger self, there are a lot of things I would like to instill in him, and they are as follows:
Start planning life early: They say there’s light at the end of the tunnel, which is very true, but one of the things that determines how soon we get to the end of that tunnel is how serious we are about the steps we take in life toward achieving our goals. My younger self needs to start being serious with life at an early age. He needs to cultivate the habit of working in any little way possible to earn money and learn to invest it. He doesn’t need to wait until he turns 20 before thinking about where to invest his money so it can yield profit. The investment could be in cryptocurrency, saving somewhere that offers annual percentage returns (APR), or even starting a business. My younger self needs to start early in planning for financial freedom at a young age.
Learn a digital skill: My younger self needs to understand how important it is to learn a digital skill, and it’s even better to learn and master one at a young age, when life hasn’t yet become very tough and filled with endless responsibilities. It may pose some difficulties, especially in a country like mine where resources are limited, but it’s still very achievable. I would tell my younger self to go into website development—not just to learn the basics but to be grounded in it, as it would open many doors for him in the years to come. Another digital skill worth learning is crypto trading. In the current world, crypto trading is one of the channels through which people earn a living, and if my younger self had gone into it at a young age, it would have made a way for him.
Thanks!
