Buddhism is not pessimistic - if yes, why would they strive to be enlightened?

Hong Kong Tian Tan Buddha

Common sense

Neither pessimistic nor optimistic is Buddhism. If anything at all, Buddhism is realistic, as it takes a realistic view of life and of the world. It looks at things objectively, just as common sense.

It does not falsely sell tickets to heaven or paradise, nor does it frighten and agonize you with all kinds of imaginary fears and sins like many religions do.

Rather, Buddhism tells you exactly and objectively what you are and what the world around you is. Futhermore, Buddhism shows you the way to perfect freedom, peace, tranquillity and happiness.

Buddhism is never a pessimsitic religion or a way of life.
