In the outskirt of Yenagoa, resides a town called Ikolo, a notorious village known for its outstanding features, a land filled with Crude oil, large lakes, enormous rivers, a beautiful natural environment and so many other beautiful features. It will be ridiculous to talk about Ikolo without emphasizing on its unique people, who are known for their great talents, Wrestlers, fisher men and women, Farmers, traders, Divers and so many talented individuals are all inhabitants of this town. It's impossible to talk about talented individuals in the town of Ikolo without mentioning a particular individual called Elkanah!.
Elkanah is a very popular young vibrant man popularly known for his ability to predict incidents that are yet to happen, more likely dreams. He was blessed with this talent right from birth. At first it seemed like he was abnormal because of his ability to predict incidents that are yet to occur, right from when he was an infant he started noticing that he dreams alot and these dreams come to reality sooner than later.
This continued for a while and he was scared that something might be wrong with him because what's the logical explanation for a young boy to predict the future through dreams, both good and bad dreams, scary and elated dreams, all of which comes to pass within the twinkle of an eye.
Elkanah got worried and decided to share his weird experience with his Mom who's a typical farmer and hair dresser, he shared his weird experience with his Mom but she gave little value to what her son was explaining saying it's just a mere coincidence that he shouldn't be bothered about it, Elkanah took heed to what his mom said a stayed calm.
On a cloudy evening when farmers were back from their farms, the women trying to prepare dinner and the men were making firewood ready for their wives to make use of, Elkanah was the man of the house since his father passed away, he usually assists his mom with General chores especially farming. The weather became more cloudy and it became obvious that it was about to rain heavily, the rain began after a while and it showered heavily.
They had dinner and retired to bed, whilst sleeping Elkanah had a dream that scared the hell out of him, and he knows that his dreams usually comes to pass hence he became scared, bit he was glad he has seen what was about to happen and he had to take precaution measures about what he saw in his dream.
The dream snatched sleep from his eyes totally, he was restless and his heart palpitates aggressively, he needed to talk to someone about his dream so he wake his mom up.
Elkanah: Mom! Mom! he called and tapped his mom, She answered with a sleepy voice saying...
Elkanah's Mom: 'What is it this nyt'?
Elkanah: I had a terrible dreams and I feel it would come to pass as other of my dreams usually comes to pass and I'm scared because this particular dream involves you!
Immediately she heard that she stood up with eagerness to hear his dream.
Elkanah's Mom: My Son what did u dream this time around? This your dreams are becoming more frequent and scary!
Elkanah:Clears his throat, Hmmmm!
Mom! I dreamt u were attacked by herds men in the bush,they were passing our farm with their cows and destroying our crops, when u tried to caution the herds men they got angry and started beating u aggressively till u fainted,u went to the farm alone so there was no one to help or call for help!
Elkanah's Mom: Are u serious? What happened next?
Elkanah: I woke up immediately and I'm really scared. I think u shouldn't go to farm today, let's see just stay at home to prevent whatever danger is coming our way.
Elkanah's Mom: My son I think I should listen to you this time around, perhaps your dream might be a warning for me to stay at home today in order to escape danger.
Elkanah: Yes mom! I think u should stay at home today.
Elkanah's Mom: Okay Son I have heard you.
Elkanah: Thanks Mom for listening to me.
They both slept off afterwards.
It was a saturday morning that started with cock crows and birds making funny noises, Villagers started with their daily activities, Fisher men and women arranging their nets for fishing, Farmers sharpening their hoes and cutlasses to go to farm, wrestlers getting ready for their opponents, traders arranging their goods to go to the market,it was a busy Saturday with lots of activities going on.
Elkanah's Mom woke up and was preparing to go to the farm as usual, she had forgotten about the dream already and was busy arranging her things to go to the farm, she was already set to go when Elkanah woke up and noticed that she wasn't inside as he expected, he went out and she was already set to go!
Elkanah:Mom! what are u doing? I thought we agreed that you won't go to farm today?
Elkanah's Mom: Oh my goodness!
I totally forgot, u know I'm used to going to farm, I forgot, let me quickly unpack my things.
She unpacked her things and retired to doing house chores and cooking, the day was very boring for her as she thought of her farm and the work she would have done for the day if she had gone.
Seconds went by, minutes came and hours passed by,the day was gradually coming to and end and villagers started returning from their various places of work.
Elkanah's Mom was eager to go to farm the next day so she slept quite early so she would wake early enough,the night passed and morning came,she woke up very early and was about going to the farm when Elkanah insisted on going with her, they both headed to the farm and they conversed on their way to farm.
The distance was about 15 kilometers from the village, they trekked and got to the farm, they were both bewildered by what they saw when they got to the farm.
They saw footsteps of cow in their farm and most crops were destroyed, Elkanah's Mom was glad she listened to her son.
They worked for hours in the farm and later went home, the incident was reported to the village head and herdsmen were band completely from the community.
Days went by and Elkanah's ability to predict the future through dreams became known to people within and outside the community, he was highly respected in the community at large.
Life itself is a gift, cherish every moment you have.

This is a pretty interesting concept for a story, and works well to introduce this character and their ability to see visions of the future.
What you have here reads more like a screenplay, because we feel like we're being told the story, rather than experiencing it from Elkanahs first hand perspective. The thing that makes it truly feel like a screenplay is the dialogue tags for each character as they speak.
All in all, very interesting and I can imagine this being an interesting series of events where Elkanahs uses his gift to change the future.
