What colorful, evocative writing, @penderis. You create a strong mood in this story, and rather arresting characters in the old man and the crow. I don't really know what the orbs are, but the story is carried on the imagery, and the sense that something mystical is happening. A very enjoyable piece! I spend most of my Hive time in The Ink Well community, but I'm also trying to regularly venture out to find fiction being published outside of our community too!

Thank you, I was hoping to get into more depth with the details as I realise the story in itself can basically just be considered a beginning but time and energy caught up with me and I left it as is, possibly a continuation would be good but I will see how the mood strikes me.

Glad you liked what there is and that the mood worked well. I don't know how else to describe grey and dreary etc in many more ways so it is good that came through I hope.
