This is wonderful! The shower imagery/metaphors really works for me, grasping for something once so ephemerally solid, becoming ephemerally misty, and soon washed down the drain.
But wait! The something has left an infinitesimal wake at your feet. You step in, are swept along to a new something, a better something, a something that becomes a story told.
