Saludos amigos de #hive y #homeedders, espero esten teniendo un grandioso inicio de semana. En esta ocasión para no perder la costumbre, comparto con ustedes un dibujo de otra de las magnificas criaturas que una vez poblaron la tierra.

Greetings friends of #hive and #homeedders, I hope you are having a great start of the week. On this occasion not to lose the habit, I share with you a drawing of another of the magnificent creatures that once populated the earth.

Como bien saben la tierra fue dominada por los dinosaurios, pero las criaturas acuáticas de ese entonces no eran denominadas dinosaurios, esas entraban en otras categorias como pleisiosaurios, pliosaurios, ictiosaurios y mosasaurios, los cuales eran los distintos grupos de especies de estas criaturas.

As you well know the earth was dominated by dinosaurs, but the aquatic creatures of that time were not called dinosaurs, those fell into other categories such as pleisiosaurs, pliosaurs, ichthyosaurs and mosasaurs, which were the different groups of species of these creatures.

Ichthyosaurus

Este especie el grupo de los ictiosaurios exitio hace mas de 200 millones de años en el jurasico inferior. Localizado en Europa, llego a medir aproximadamente 1.8 metros de longitud, teniendo una dieta de peces, calamares y ammonites.

This species of the ichthyosaur group existed more than 200 million years ago in the Lower Jurassic. Located in Europe, it reached approximately 1.8 meters in length, having a diet of fish, squid and ammonites.

Se dice que esta criautura pudo haber habitado el agua a tales profundidades en busca de su comida, aun en profundidades muy oscuras donde la luz desaparece, pero esto pudo no haber sido un problema por los grandes ojos que poseia el ichthyosaurus. Hay hipotesis que dicen que tal vez pudo haber detectado las ondas o vibraciones del agua producidas por sus presas.

It is said that this creature could have inhabited the water at such depths in search of food, even in very dark depths where light disappears, but this may not have been a problem because of the large eyes that the ichthyosaurus possessed. There are hypotheses that say that perhaps it could have detected the waves or vibrations of the water produced by its prey.

Al parecer al igual que los delfines y ballenas, el ichthyosaurus no ponían huevos, debido a que en varios fosiles se descubrian otros diminutos esqueletos en el interior de varios adultos. Incluso, uno de los fosiles hallados en alemania, muestra a una cría preparada para nacer, saliendo de su madre, sacando la cola en primer lugar.

Apparently, like dolphins and whales, the ichthyosaurus did not lay eggs, because in several fossils other tiny skeletons were discovered inside several adults. One of the fossils found in Germany even shows a baby ichthyosaurus ready to be born, coming out of its mother's body, first pulling out its tail.

- Realicé la base con un tono azul, haciendo ambas poses.

I made the base with a blue tone, making both poses.

- Con un tono morado le di mas forma al dibujo, definiendo partes como aletas y ojos.

With a purple tone I gave more shape to the drawing, defining parts like fins and eyes.

- Con el negro realicé el trabajo de linea en todo el dibujo.

With black I did the line work all over the drawing.

- Apliqué una base de color marron a ambos ichthyosaurus.

I applied a brown base color to both ichthyosaurus.

- Realicé la capa de sombra con el morado, la cual le da profundidad y dimensión al dibujo.

I made the shadow layer with purple, which gives depth and dimension to the drawing.

- Apliqué varios tonos, colores, y brillos para detallar el dibujo.

I applied several tones, colors, and shines to detail the drawing.

- Realicé un fondo acuático con diversos tonos de colores.

I made an aquatic background with various shades of colors.

Es increible la cantidad de criaturas que aun espero llegar a dibujar, y hacerlo mientras sigo mejorando en el arte digital. Sin duda estos de hoy se parecen un poco a los delfines de hoy en dia.

It's amazing how many creatures I still hope to draw, and to do it while I keep improving in digital art. No doubt these ones today look a bit like today's dolphins.
