Preparing and Organizing the educational materials for children in Mountain Area

in Home Edders3 years ago
This will be part two of our preparation for our Feeding and Distribution of School supplies. It was around 7 p.m. we arrived at the house and we directly took out all the stuff from its respective boxes. There will be 50 selected children who will receive ranges from Grade 1 to Grade 6. I chose the extended folders because I found them firmer and it’s similar to where they put their modules on their classes so it can be sort of they can reuse it.

I decided to choose common and useful school supplies of what a child needs daily for his or her class. In one extended folder, it is composed of one bundle of paper according to their grade level, a storybook, pencils, eraser, sharpener, ruler, crayons, glue, and notebooks. This kind of idea will surely make the children happy and the same for the parents too. I labeled each folder with their names on it for me to have an easy system if the program will start because I do believe, it creates a systematic way. We finished packing all the school supplies at 10:00 pm.

On the next day, we went to Prince Hypermarket to buy the ingredients for the feeding program. With the suggestion of the volunteers and it is commonly served for the feeding program, we decided to feed the children with a healthy porridge serve in a hot meal. We bought fro 10 kilos of rice, seasonings, 100 pieces of cups, spoons, and forks. What makes this porridge special is the vegetables in it such as squash, scallions, ginger, and carrots for protein we have 5 kilos of chicken.

And to make the program more fun and interesting, we decided to conduct educational games to challenge and see how far the students learned from their studies. These are simple rewards like candies because as we all know, children have fond of sweets and I know this creates a big smile on their faces. The prizes were packed and placed in bags.

The day before the program we put some add-on to make this program more amazing. Since we are still fighting for Covid, we bought some spraying alcohols and masks to keep everyone safer. Next, we bought 100 pieces of torta. Torta is a delicious delicacy from my municipality here in Dalaguete and we chose Ma’am Procee’s Tortas because her store is popular locally and mostly tourist from different places will stop over her store to buy loads of tortas and to partner the snack, we add on for about a hundred of flavored juice.
