¡HAPPY NEW YEAR! To my dear friends from the more creative Homeedders home-learning community. I am glad to be writing to you again after the many occupations and activities in days gone by. I want to share an activity that occurred to me at home to teach my girls an important issue that is part of the environment when we are on the streets and has to do with the roads, avenues or highways, everything concerning traffic signals, lines on the roads and the traffic light.
¡FELIZ AÑO NUEVO! A mis estimados amigos de la comunidad más creativa de enseñanza desde el hogar Homeedders. Gusto estar de nuevo escribiéndoles luego de las tantas ocupaciones y actividades en días pasados. Quiero compartirles una actividad que se me ocurrió en casa realizar para enseñar a mis niñas un tema importante que forma parte del entorno cuando estamos en las calles y tiene que ver con las vías, avenidas o carreteras, todo lo concerniente a las señales de transito, líneas en las vías y el semáforo.
As attentive parents that day by day our children learn from home, we must also teach them topics in the care when walking, when being on the streets, as represented by road safety education, in the care that must be taken in this when traveling on public roads, something that teaches to know each sign and avoid accidents.In addition to being something that my eldest daughter asked when leaving in relation to lines on the roads, a sign or some road indicator. So, with simple materials I started the creative year and dedicated to following the teaching-learning process in my daughters. Among these I used two architectural plans, colored markers, ruler, pencil, scissors and crayons.
Como padres atentos en que día a día nuestros pequeños aprendan desde casa, debemos enseñarles temas también en el cuidado al caminar, al momento de estar en las calles, como lo representa la educación vial, en el cuidado que debe tenerse en esta al momento de transitar en la vía pública, algo que enseña a conocer cada señalización y evitar accidentes. Además de ser algo que preguntaba al momento de salir mi hija mayor en relación a líneas en las carreteras, un cartel o algún indicador de la vialidad. Por lo que, con materiales sencillos inicie el año creativa y dedicada a seguir el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje en mis hijas. Entre estos utilicé dos planos de arquitectura, marcadores de colores, regla, lápiz, tijera y creyones.
1- The architectural plane is something large about the size of a bond paper which facilitated within it to take several spaces to create varied strategies. The first was on the left to work the lines on the road, placing the title and several roads with its example and name line it represents.
1- El plano de arquitectura es algo grande como del tamaño de un papel bond lo que facilitaba dentro del mismo tomar varios espacios para crear variadas estrategias. La primero fue a mano izquierda trabajar las líneas en la vía, colocando el título y varias carreteras con su ejemplo y nombre línea que representa.
2- Once the previous step was done, the next thing was to place some examples of directional arrows, in the same way as the previous step placing the title, the drawings and below what they represent, these leave them uncolored as an alternative for my girls to color it. Similarly in the case of traffic signals.
2- Una vez realizado el paso anterior, lo siguiente fue colocar algunos ejemplos de flechas direccionales, de la misma manera que el paso anterior colocando el título, los dibujos y debajo lo que representan, estos los deje sin colorear como alternativa de que mis niñas lo coloreen. De igual manera en el caso de las señales de transito.
3- One of the things I wanted to teach was about the traffic light and what each of its three colors represents. So, draw a traffic light and sideways a road with a few minis or small traffic lights in one color each.
3- Una de las cosas que quería enseñar era sobre el semáforo y qué representa cada uno de sus tres colores. Por lo que, dibuje un semáforo y de lado una carretera con unos minis o pequeños semáforos en un color cada uno.
4- In another plane of architecture I cut several pieces of paper in order to make a memory game with some traffic signals.
4- En otro plano de arquitectura recorté varios papelitos con la finalidad de hacer un juego de memoria con algunas señales de transito.
5- In one of the parts that remain of the plane I made a game of labyrinth with some of the signs and about three drawings of cars to color.
5- En una de las partes que quedo del plano realicé un juego de laberinto con algunas de las señalizaciones y unos tres dibujos de autos a colorear.
¿How to apply the strategy? / ¿Cómo aplicar la estrategia?
Give the little one the large sheet and talk to them a little about what each one represents what you are presenting there, once you understand the content you should color in the first part the roads, the directional arrows, as well as some of the traffic signs.
Entrega al pequeño la gran lamina y háblales un poco sobre lo que representa cada una lo que allí estas presentándoles, una vez entendido el contenido debe colorear en la primera parte las carreteras, las flechas direccionales, así como algunas de las señales de transito.
Teach them about the traffic light and explain what each color represents and what are the actions that an individual on the street must execute before them. Therefore, it indicates that they color each circumference in the corresponding color. One of the fun things about this part of the activity is that they must look for some small carts and follow the path of the road and based on the color of each small traffic light captured and understood the previous explanations must advance, stop or be cautious.
Enséñales sobre el semáforo y da explicación de qué representa cada color y cuáles son las acciones que un individuo en la calle debe ejecutar ante estas. Por lo que, indica que coloreen cada circunferencia en el color correspondiente. Una de las cosas divertidas de esta parte de la actividad es que deben buscar unos pequeños carritos y seguir el camino de la carretera y en base al color de cada pequeño semáforo captada y entendida las explicaciones anteriores deben avanzar, detenerse o tener precaución.
To end this activity, we close with the memory game by placing the small pieces of paper on a flat surface where the children see the images without order and then turn them over so that they can get it right and know how many they managed to memorize of the figures. On the other hand, they play with the maze, where you must indicate that they color the cars and follow the path to the traffic light or signaling according to what corresponds in each one.
Para finalizar esta actividad, cerramos con el juego de memoria colocando los papelitos pequeños en una superficie plana donde los niños/a vean las imágenes sin orden y luego voltearlas para que ellos logren acertar y saber cuantas lograron memorizar de las figuras. Por otro lado, juegan con el laberinto, donde debes indicar que coloreen los autos y sigan el camino hasta el semáforo o señalización según lo que corresponda en cada uno.
Benefits of the activity:
It allows children at home to learn some rules or rules of coexistence on the road map of how we should move.
Ensures safety when you are on the street; From an early age we are indicating that it represents each image, symbol, figure or sign. We sow knowledge and social awareness.
Teaches them to pay attention to explanations and be guided in each instruction.
Through this activity we work on the reinforcement of reading since children must read what you have written in representation of each image.
The fact of coloring and making the game of the labyrinth following the route allows to work the fine motor skills of the little one.
It allows them to memorize and be focused.
We teach the value of teamwork coloring, sharing crayons and quality time together at home.
Beneficios de la actividad:
- Les permite a los pequeños en casa aprender algunas normas o reglas de convivencia en el plano vial de como debemos movilizarnos.
Garantiza la seguridad en el momento de estar en la calle; desde temprana edad estamos indicando que representa cada imagen, símbolo, figura o señal. Sembramos conocimiento y conciencia social.
Les enseña a prestar atención a las explicaciones y ser guiado en cada instrucción.
A través de esta actividad trabajamos el refuerzo de la lectura ya que los pequeños deben leer lo que haz escrito en representación a cada imagen.
El hecho de colorear y hacer el juego del laberinto siguiendo la ruta permite trabajar la motricidad fina del pequeño/a.
Les permite memorizar y estar concentrados.
Enseñamos el valor de trabajar en equipo coloreando, compartiendo creyones y tiempo de calidad juntos en casa.
And so, my girls spent the morning well entertained learning a little more and sharing with their mommy who teaches them with patience and love, perfect ingredients for their training.
Y pues, mis niñas pasaron la mañana bien entretenidas aprendiendo un poco más y compartiendo con su mamita quien les enseña con paciencia y amor, ingredientes perfectos para su formación.

That was quite extensive for that age, I'm impressed XD I never did anything so specific with mine, they just kind of asked if they were interested and learned that way, other than that the only things I really taught them how to do was cross the road safely.
The older two only recently learned everything they need to know as they had to for their learner's permits.
Something extensive but interesting from an early age that they manage to learn. Thank you for visiting this content.
