PeakD has integrated Beechat. Thanks Asgarth and Jarvie. Hive has finally entered modern social media and now has chat functionality. In some respects it's even better than regular social media as now it's tied to a blockchain account and key. Now you know when someone is messaging you if it's really from that account. Kudos and happy chatting.
That's not the only story worthy of an update. We're getting ready to launch our BEECHATTER android app through the google playstore. It will have the basic chat functions as well as a handful of simple commands that you can use to execute transfers and check balances for your hive-engine wallet.
Chat with your friends, check your Hive Engine balances, and transfer balances all from the convenience of your phone!
PS: I think there's another big place on chain that will integrate this thing sometime next year. Should be fun!

I was going to say the same thing. It doesn't work at all on mobile...which I feel most developers on Hive overlook designing for mobile, which is where most web traffic happens these days. Are there plans for an iOS app?
I tried it out shortly after launch, it worked pretty well, a few initial glitches but they got ironed out over a short time frame. Asgarth and team did a great job bringing it to life on PeakD.

So are we talking about @splinterlands? It'll be a very cool feature. Most multiplayer games have chat for players. I heard Slack came out of a chat feature built for an MMO.
