RE: I'm Trying to Support Hive but Whales are Downvoting Me

in #hive4 years ago (edited)

Your work for crypto and Hive is genuinely appreciated but its important to understand that downvoting is part of the Hive system that keeps it a civilised place.

Those downvoting you have explained their reasons and you should take this as constructive criticism.

I have upvoted you, but I respect the right of others to have a different opinion.
You are still earning well on your posts.

Its part of the beauty of Hive that there are a variety of opinions on everything, including the value of particular content and that this is true of the whale level too.

A downvote is not a personal attack (unlike the vile behaviour that centralised social media encourages). It is just an adjustment of the reward pool distribution.
Please do not equate a downvote with a horrible personal attack on Twitter. They are not the same at all.

Please read through the comments before telling me not to equate a downvote with a personal attack. It is most certainly a personal attack, and that is clear to anyone looking in on this thread. This is incredibly disappointing to see from the Hive community.

While some of the comments from the person downvoting you could be construed as a personal attack, a downvote itself is not.

The proper response to a personal attack is to downvote it.

I simply don't have the time or energy for this. It's not worth it to me to join a new platform where main stakeholders and going out of their way to attack me.

You are completely exaggerating!

It one or two large stakeholders out of thousands that are downvoting you.
You also get upvotes from even larger stakeholders as well as from lots of other people.

This is a DECENTRALISED platform. There ARE NO "MAIN STAKEHOLDERS".

Honestly this is a horrible experience.

HIVE is decentralized? And I'm the Queen of England. :-)

It was an oligarchy when I wrote this post and still is.
