RE: Core developers meeting #16

in #hive3 years ago

08:00 The modular concept sounds pretty good, even as a non-programmer I do understand that most programs are built on modules and not all programs need all the information that is available, so modules would make for lighter weight programs it seems.

11:00 Nice to hear that the big changes are pretty much done and opening up of individual wants and needs being opened up.

35:00 Recovery Account Person, information was somewhat nice to hear about, I may not have understood the full discussion, but it is nice to hear account protection is still one of the things always on the minds of the developers. A nice thing would be just a notification your requested recovery account person has been successfully changed

48:00 IBC, that sounds pretty complex, but it could be a very telling tool for many people in the investment fields. I also think once the coin change is able, it would not be much of a step from information sharing like how in the early stages AOL and CompuServe were separate, the internet explorers brought the two and many to one.

Just think you are surfing the net, you see a very compelling post or page and you click a vote button and can give them a tip in any coin you own.

Thanks all it was an interesting show, and nice to hear about the information above.

re:modularity: this is especially important as hivemind requires like 600gb of space currently

Thanks for always commenting :)

Actually hivemind's storage footprint is now down to 440GB.

Now that will increase a few hundred GBs if we move the account history data from hived to hivemind as we're planning (but it's not necessarily a net increase, since we can potentially stop storing that same data on disk for hived at that point).
