Ecency Points Rule My Account (Only 6% Of FOMO Traders Ever Profited)

in #hive22 hours ago

I didn't intend for this to be the situation but the most valuale asset in the HIVE ecosystem are my Ecency points oddly enough.

I just kept stacking them over time and that's just what happened.

I know everyone is continuing to press on here while there is potentially more action seemingly going on X and on FOMO. I saw an interesting Tweet where a guy did some queries to see how many traders on FOMO were successful. The results were shocking. Only 6% of traders were in profit which supposedly is lower than the results from PolyMarket which came in at 7% from another post I saw.

I'm just glad I'm in profit. Working the treches isn't easy during a bear market.

I think that is the same for me. I kept stacking up the @ecency points without paying too much attention and the value of them is over twice all of my on-chain tokens (except Hive and HBD) earned from day 1. Who would have known?

I didn't pay it much mind because I didn't see much use in them except the odd promoted post to reach more people using the dapp. Is there a market for Ecency tokens?

Ecency points are not tokens, they are centralized pointing system and their value comes from fixed sale value we have on in-app purchases. It might be confusing to see that value in wallet, we agree.

Ah thanks for the clarification!

I always treated them like points and figured spending them sparingly would leave me with a good amount in case I fogured out a use for them besides promoting posts.

I thought there used to be a market for them accessible through the web interface or something?

I swear there was a secondary market a couple years ago where they could partially be cashed out to HIVE.

Ah well we are building a big @ecency stake too!

It's been a great app. I will get around to using more of my points eventually
