Greetings hive, hope you are all well this Monday.

I went to bed last night expecting to wake up early and head to work, but that didn’t happen. Someone else was scheduled to work, and I was, as they say, "made spare," meaning I wasn’t needed today. Since Homebase went into administration just before Christmas, my stable and enjoyable 30-hour-a-week forklift job vanished. The tough job market, combined with my limited qualifications, has made finding new employment challenging. I managed to secure a job, but I really dislike it. Self-employment and zero-hour contracts make it impossible to save money, manage taxes, or cover living expenses. And the company behind it is just a pain to deal with.
Missing out on a day’s wages this morning left me feeling a bit down, and it kind of ruined my start to the day. As the hours passed, I began focusing on the positives. I can deep clean my room and finally clear out all the junk. Plus, I have time to engage with Hive, explore crypto communities, and catch up with friends and more notably fix up my cv ready to apply for a new job and maybe a new direction in my career.
Overall, i am now getting on with the day and making myself as productive as possible, thanks for reading.
It's best to stick on the positives when such things happens.
What kind of things are you particularly interested in? Any skills you could develop to the point that you could go into a job as a junior of some sort, work your way up?
One of my in laws was a forklift driver himself and changed job a little bit, to work for Britvic in the factory where they manufacture cans for various drinks.
I’d hate to lose my job as a web developer because even this marketplace is a bit scarce at the moment and I worry being over 50.
