Why v4call Exists
I don't want strangers ringing my phone. I don't want cold callers, spam, or someone asking if I'm happy with my telephone provider. If someone I don't know wants to talk to me, they should pay for the privilege. If they value my time, they'll pay. If not, my phone doesn't ring. Simple.
I want a ring fee — a payment just to make my phone ring. I want a connect fee — a payment when I pick up. And I want a per-hour rate — so every minute of my time is compensated. If they hang up early, the unused credit goes back to them automatically.
But I don't want to charge everyone the same. I want custom rules for different people:
- Family — no restrictions, no fees, call any time
- Friends — free calls during the day (8am–11pm), but if they ring me after 11pm there's a small fee to make my phone ring — because it better be important
- Work — free during office hours (9am–5pm), after that I set my own rate for out-of-hours calls
- Everyone else — cold callers, randoms, unknowns — they pay my default rate. One price during the day, a higher price at night
I also want the same system for text messages. Spam texts cost the sender nothing and waste my time. If a stranger wants to message me, they can pay a small fee. If it's someone I know, it's free.
I don't want a public phone. I want a private, personal phone where the people I know can reach me freely, and everyone else pays to connect.
