In the Record of Ragnarok series, the Council of Gods meets every 100 years to decide the fate of humanity. After 7 million years of history, these mythological beings come to the conclusion that humans are a goner and that they must be exterminated.
The anime begins with an assembly between the Gods that takes place every thousand years to decide how to destroy humanity. However, the main agenda this time is whether they would drive humanity to extinction or whether there would be a new opportunity. Each God gave his opinion, arguing the negative points of humans.
