A while ago, I checked Hive’s online presence on Web2 platforms, particularly on YouTube. I found that there are very few YouTube creators talking about Hive, and it seems that the price movement of Hive in recent months doesn’t excite anyone anymore. Unlike Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other top cryptocurrencies, Hive appears to be buried under several altcoins (or even “shitcoins”), and the worst part is that several meme coins rank above us in terms of market cap. When it comes to popularity, we’ve clearly been underperforming, and I hate that people outside the Hive community no longer see our blockchain as exciting as before, even though we have superior technology and a thriving community.

It makes me wonder what people outside of Hive actually know about the blockchain and its use cases. So, I did a quick YouTube search to see if there’s any recent content about Hive, and to find out what others really think about it. I wanted to see if I could learn the answers to a few questions that have been on my mind:
- Are they aware of the developments that have taken place in the past year?
- What do they think about the Hive community?
- Do they know about Hive’s use cases and the dApps built on top of the chain?
Although there are quite a few Shorts videos about Hive on YouTube, I found very few long-form videos discussing it in depth. Just to be clear, I focused only on videos created by independent content creators and excluded those posted by the official HiveFest account. I did this to get a clearer understanding of how others perceive Hive—as a coin, a blockchain, and a social media platform.
In my search, focusing on videos uploaded within the past year, I came across the YouTube channel Crypto with James. He posted a review about Hive in this video, where he talked about Hive’s history and mentioned that it was a fork of Steem after the issue with Justin Sun.
He also briefly explained Hive’s main use case as a social media platform, showing a quick look at PeakD and Hive.blog, and how content creators earn tokens as rewards for posting. However, he only covered the basic aspects of Hive and didn’t mention the upcoming advancements currently being developed. For me, the review felt a bit underwhelming.
That said, he did predict that Hive’s price could reach $1.50 in this market cycle—a projection I personally find hard to agree with. But of course, no one can really say for sure what the actual price will be by the end of the year. We’ll just have to wait and see!
During my search, I also came across a YouTube channel called HiveBharat, which is based in India. I’m not exactly sure who runs the channel, but it’s clear that the person (or team) behind it understands Hive very well—including its technical aspects such as its use cases, Resource Credits (RC), Hive Power, and even the various dApps built on the platform.
I think it’s a great source of knowledge about Hive and how users can actively participate in its social media ecosystem.
What’s even more impressive is that they post videos consistently, and I find their content both accurate and genuinely helpful. You can check out one of their videos here: https://youtu.be/P9m2JNA22qo?si=HPbE9Zw8N8h8gdjC.
Lastly, I came across a video about Hive that was more misleading than helpful. It appeared to be AI-generated and mistakenly linked the Hive blockchain to a Bitcoin mining company called Hive Terminal.
Although I can’t really blame them for the confusion—it’s something that has been happening ever since Hive was launched years ago.
In a way, Hive has actually benefited from this mix-up. If you check Hive’s page on CoinGecko, you’ll notice that a lot of content related to the Hive Terminal BTC mining company is still being linked to Hive Blockchain, even though there’s no connection between the two. It’s kind of funny, but I guess it works in our favor—LOL!

Overall, my quick exploration on YouTube made me realize that while Hive’s online presence is still limited, there are creators out there who genuinely understand and support the platform. It also shows that there’s plenty of room for more voices to share what Hive is truly about. Hopefully, more content creators will step up and help spread awareness of Hive’s innovations and thriving community.

Yes, Hive is basically absent from YouTube. That is a very bad sign for long term adoption and price appreciation...
True, the lack of Hive content on YouTube is concerning. Hopefully more creators will start talking about Hive soon, it’ll really help visibility and adoption.
Nice checking on Hive presence on youtube. And I guess more work should be done to publicize hive on youtube for greater reach
Thanks! I agree, more consistent promotion on YouTube could really boost Hive’s reach and help more people discover what makes it special.
There was an account which had a DHF funded proposal for YouTube gear under the pretense that they'd throw out a ton of YouTube videos and focus on it. Naturally nothing came of it but they got funded.
That was the last time I saw something surrounding Hive and YouTube. Honestly, I'm not surprised. There's not a whole lot to talk about these days. The development is thin and mostly just for existing users.
Yeah, I remember that too, it’s a shame it didn’t go anywhere. Agree 100%, fresh, community-driven content is what Hive needs to stay visible and exciting.
If enough people are talking about Hive here and there, somewhere, I think more people will get the idea what hive is. Its still hard to explain crypto to people though especially you have to explain everything for them to actually understand it. And are they actually willing to learn about it. That would be awesome if more people will take interest on Hive.
Well said! It’s not easy to explain crypto to newcomers, but if more people keep sharing about Hive in simple, relatable ways, curiosity will eventually grow. 👍
You really did an extensive research, which brought about these discoveries. We all have a role to play to create awareness and let people know how good Hive is as a platform. A lot of people must have lost interest because of the current worth, but that shouldn't be the case. We want to give Hive all the support because we will still be the ones to benefit when it hits the moon. 💥 💥 💥
Absolutely! We all have a part to play in spreading Hive’s message. Even small efforts to create awareness can add up to something big in time. 💪✨
Nice checking on Hive presence on youtube. And I guess more work should be done to publicize hive on youtube for greater reach
