Status of CurationKiwi | Steem Price Drop, COVID-19, HIVE, and how it's affecting us | We are now selling official merch!

in #hive4 years ago

Since the beginning, CurationKiwi has been run as a platform to support small content creators and ensure all quality content has a chance to earn the rewards they deserve. Over the past 2 years, we have given out over 14,000 upvotes to incredible users who have offered so much to this platform, and hope to continue to offer the same support across the board to the community this platform is defined by.

HIVE

I'm sure all of you have heard by now about the new HIVE platform. If not, feel free to visit the front page and read all about it.

Kiwi Co has been working with our developers to bring CurationKiwi functionality to the HIVE platform, and ensure we can support both communities at the same time. If you would like to visit our steemit page, visit this link. We hope to have our bot up and running on this site within the next month.

As a majority of you have noticed, the price of steem has dramatically dropped over the past years, resulting in any profit we make off curation rewards reaching nowhere near enough to pay for our servers. We, the Kiwi Co. team, have been paying for the server out of pocket for 9 months now, with the hope that our project benefits enough people to make up for our losses, and the steem coin price will rebound enough to at least keep the project running sustainably.

While we have been paying for the servers out of pocket, the recent corona-virus has caused a tightening of budgets all around. We have enough to continue paying for the next couple of months, however, we need to recoup our losses soon. This is where we hope we can gain your support.

We have designed Kiwi Co. merchandise to ensure we can continue to support you and all of your fellow minnows.
Thanks to bonfire.com, we are now offering-

Kiwi Co. Logo Shirts + Hoodies -

And we understand not everyone is willing to spend $25+ on specifically @CurationKiwi - related gear, so we've decided to create some HIVE ones too -

We are also offering the creation of any other labeled clothes you would like, along with providing our own artist to help you design artwork (for a small fee).

How we'll use these funds

This first round of sales is meant as a test to see how we can begin making enough money to support the bot from elsewhere. A single t-shirt purchase will allow the bot to stay up for a whole month, while a hoodie will allow us to remain up for two months minimum. Any profit past what is absolutely necessary will be put into renting and purchasing more steem power, ensuring we can reward quality content more for what they create.

What will you gain

We are offering a lifetime of 100% upvotes from this account (at the current value and until but not exceeding $0.20 per upvote) no matter what. Your support through these difficult times means the world to us, and we want to ensure you are receiving at least a fraction of your support back.

Our pledge to transparency

To reassure the community that we will be using these funds for nothing but the bot, we will be offering statistics on how sales are doing, profit gained, and where all of the profit has gone. To request a transparency report, please contact @KiwiJuce on Discord or join the Kiwi Co. Discord

From the Kiwi Co. team, thank you again for sticking with us through these difficult times, and we hope to be able to continue to support you and the rest of our community for the rest of our time together.

How can I register, I don't see an option on Discord? @curationkiwi

To use @CurationKiwi, all you need to do is go to the #curationkiwi room and use the command "!upvote (your steemit post link)" to receive an upvote. If you would like to receive a premium upvote, you can delegate at least 50 sp to this account and will be rewarded with a larger upvote.

Thanks for the reply but for some reason it doesn't work for me.
