For some time now, the world has been in serious pandemonium as a result of the outbreak of the epidemic, covid19.
Since the inception of this epidemic, the whole world has been struggling to discover a vaccine that can be used as a preventive measure to tackle the disease, but presently it has been proven abortive.
Some days back I listened to a speaker who was trying to analyze how much effect the world has suffered within this period, and more havoc is still wrecking the top countries and cities of the world.
He mentioned the effect of coronavirus on the education, economic and social sectors of the world. He also lamented that even as much has been done so far to see the possibility of getting a vaccine, yet all prove abortive. The vaccine is expected to be discovered within 12 to 18 months from now which is about one, or one year and a half from now.
Note that this statement is just in anticipation and not specific. Coming back to the question, is it possible for the world to survive without discovering the vaccine for coronavirus?
The obvious answer is, if we take to cognizance on the rate of infection that has escalated, the number of people that have died so far around the world is very alarming and disastrous. Meaning that the negative effect would be so much on the nations of the world.
As a result of no vaccine yet, no one is safe, we all struggle to survive by taking preventive measures, and it affects both the rich and the poor.
We have information about the high calibre of whose life it has claimed so far. Recently the chief of staff to the Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari in the person of Abba Kyari died of the same disease, and so many others in different parts of the world.
The world economy is already shaking. Things are not functioning well as it ought to be.
Two days ago there was flash news that British airways are proposing a job cut of about 12,000 people. Most companies are expected to reduce their staffs thereby creating the risk of the high poverty rate. Most schools are yet to know their faith as to resumption, especially the private education centre. Most people in these sectors will be relieved of their job.
Most countries are requesting a loan from the IMF and other financial agencies. Many livelihoods will be affected seriously both locally and internationally. It's so alarming and obvious that without coronavirus vaccine, the whole world will remain in a fix. Both the big and the small will share from the predicament. Things will generally slow down with respect to economic growth. The social well being of the masses will be affected greatly as most people will not be able to travel from one country to another.
International business opportunities will reduce, and most businesses will fail as it will not be able to function effectively. The world survival would be so slim as a result of serious challenges that will arise.
During this epidemic period, different countries and cities have initiated a system called lockdown. This came up to limit the spread of the virus, but the spread is still high, despite the science technologist and health experts.
The earnest expectation is a desire of discovering the effective vaccine that would be able to curtail the epidemic and bring it under control with a reliable curing measure, else, the world would be in a great shamble.
May God forgive our sins and rescue the world from destruction.
