Dicha planta es una maleza lo más seguro que la hayas visto en algún lugar pero lo importante de esta planta es que puede disminuir el ión fluoruro del agua.

Realice un estudio con esta planta debido a la problemática de agua que ha venido enfrentando la mayoría de las comunidades del estado Lara desde algunos años.
Carry out a study with this plant due to the water problem that most of the communities in Lara state have been facing for some years.
La comunidad la Victoria Parroquia San Miguel del Municipio Urdaneta, se ha visto afectada con la escases de este vital líquido, lo que ha conllevado que muchas familias de la comunidad elaboren pozos para extraer del mismo el agua para su consumo diario.
The community of La Victoria Parroquia San Miguel of the Urdaneta Municipality, has been affected by the shortage of this vital liquid, which has led many families in the community to build wells to extract water from it for daily consumption.
Sin embargo, esta agua ha traído como consecuencia que las personas que la han consumido presenten machas en su dentadura de color amarillo hasta llegar a un marrón, esta enfermedad es llamada fluorosis dental.
However, this water has brought as a consequence that people who have consumed it have yellow spots on their teeth until they turn brown, this disease is called dental fluorosis.
Es por ello, que no está apta para el consumo humano ya que la misma presenta altas concentraciones de ión fluoruro, de acuerdo al análisis fisicoquímico realizada a una muestra del agua tomada de uno de los pozos del lugar.
That is why it is not suitable for human consumption since it has high concentrations of fluoride ion, according to the physicochemical analysis carried out on a water sample taken from one of the wells in the place.
Cabe resaltar, que los valores obtenidos en dicho estudio arrojo una concentración del ión fluoruro de 2.5 ppm, sin embargo la OMS establece que lo recomendable para que el agua este apta para el consumo humano es presentar una concentración del ión fluoruro de 0.7 ppm. Comparando ambos valores se puede decir que hay una diferencia de 1.8ppm en concentración de dicho ión.

Es por ello, que se elaboró un carbón activado a partir de la planta manzanillita luego mediante el método colorimétrico ZICORNIO- SPANDS se determinó que con 2 gramos de carbón se disminuye 1.5 ppm del ión fluoruro.
That is why an activated carbon was made from the manzanillita plant, then by the colorimetric method ZICORNIO-SPANDS it was determined that with 2 grams of carbon 1.5 ppm of the fluoride ion is decreased.
Por lo tanto, es que recomienda la planta Tridax Procumbens para disminuir la concentración de ión fluoruro en el agua extraida del pozo, logrando con el mismo que el vital líquido pueda ser consumida pasando por dicho tratamiento, y con el mismo evitar la fluorosis dental que presentan los integrantes de la comunidad la Victoria.
Therefore, the Tridax Procumbens plant is recommended to reduce the concentration of fluoride ion in the water extracted from the well, achieving with it that the vital liquid can be consumed through said treatment, and with the same avoid dental fluorosis that presented by the members of the La Victoria
