EXODE Factions will reward you for the cards you have collected!

EXODE Factions is coming soon!

And with it a new positive way of having a direct utility for all your EXODE card collection.

This article is the first in a group of knowledge articles which will reveal to you more about EXODE Factions. Your HIVE game and cards are getting stronger!

Some quick information first!

After the update last Friday we worked this weekend on another update. This one is related to our upcoming EXODE Factions gameplay.

We updated website with a display of your Collection Coverage (CCV), which is the number of cards you have discovered in the EXODE collection.

We also made a separate counter for your Elite Coverage.
Elite Coverage is much harder to get as some Elite cards have only a few of them in existence!

And you get that information right after logging in.
To get this update, just head to our website as usual!

If you don't see version 2.08 on home screen then your cache is playing a joke on you! so please press Ctrl + F5 (on any Chrome engine browser) to teach it a lesson.

Friday's version is 2.062, Sunday's version is 2.08.


And our tools got an update too!

Previously we programmed a collection tool called Deck Expert Tool, and you can access it here.

The tool got updated (new version is 2.01) with a very technical thing: you can now copy any current list in CSV format.

You just click on the big blue button and the CSV string will be copied to your clipboard. You can then paste it in any notepad file and import it in any sheet tool such as Google Sheets.

It will become useful to compare cards and theorize on the best cards to use in EXODE Factions.

We will use this ourselves to continue our card-by-card review and add more attributes to your cards data. So the "simple" attributes there will receive some new brothers.

EXODE Boosters are hot!

The last EXODE Alpha Boosters - the last of them to ever be released by us - are back and present at our website since this Friday.

As explained in our previous post these 8348 alpha boosters (now 8163 as I write this) were unlocked recently, they became free because we are setting up beta boosters for our new operations.

They will only remain until the last of them are taken.

What is interesting with Alpha Boosters is that they can be opened already and are tied to the Alpha Collection: a vast collection of hundreds of different cards!

This may be your last chance to get these cards or get more ownership of alpha from the store, or strengthen your current collection, as explained below.


More about EXODE Factions!


And now let's explain what your cards will be used for!

In addition to evacuation gameplay and colonization we have been designing an advanced collection game for EXODE.

This replaces what could be called staking concepts from other games.

This is not the first time we work on a staking gameplay: earlier this year we made a lot of progress on a prototype! this prototype involved a player-commander and other players sending their cards. But we have refined this since and EXODE Factions is a different prototype. Simpler and more immediate to play, it should be used first, whereas the commander-game may be made available in a year.

Some of the new prototype is inspired by gacha games.

Here we took content, identifiable and interesting looks, collection utility and addictive progression systems ; but removed all time consuming activities and any need for super-p2w cards.

You don't have to purchase anything more to play EXODE Factions:
If you already have the cards for EXODE, then EXODE Factions is an additional game you will be able to use for free.

Strengthening your collection should be good to do, but nothing is mandatory.

EXODE Factions will also be supported by its own currencies and have a relationship with EXOFUEL.

You will receive units of these currencies to start playing and you can earn more of it while playing.

We want the game to be interesting enough for players to want more EXODE content and deepen the number of cards they have, but only if they find it fun to do so.

And we want it to be fun!

EXODE Factions should become one of our "recruitment tool" for EXODE. And then, if we find that it does not work enough, then we'll come up with refinements and new ideas.

So here are some of the features you will discover in this game mode!


Cards will have stars and abilities


To get a 4-stars Ayumi, you will only need 2 cards of her. But a 5-stars will need more!

The more duplicates you have on a card, the more "stars" on it.

Do you have a huge number of common card duplicates?
Then it's good!

Duplicates of some rares, or even some epics?
Then you'll easily have a lot of stars on these!

The requirement for multiple stars is lower for rarer cards.
Here is a short breakdown:

  • Common cards start at one star.
  • Rare cards start at 2.
  • Epic cards start with 3 stars. They also get a 4th star as soon as you get another!
  • Legendary cards start with 4 stars. They also get a 5th star as soon as you get another!

A major part of a card power for EXODE Factions is calculated from its number of stars but also the skills printed on the card and its quality level.

But cards will also have unique abilities.
An Ayumi won't do the same thing as a Comms officer.

And as you will get more stars, you will also unlock more of these abilities!


It is Factions for a reason!


We are working hard on revealing these abilities but I wanted to share with you first some basic information.

We have to tell you more about your accessible Simulators and how to unlock more of them!

Every mission you will get in EXODE Factions will be related to a Simulator.

There will be a COLONY SIMULATOR, which will give you new missions every day with a new setup imitating an emergency situation on a colony. You receive your mission, you place your cards, you see your bonuses, you click SEND and it's done. It's a great way for us to test our colony engine.

There will be a SHIP SIMULATOR, which should be the most important setup for indirect conflict between players. It is played the same way: you receive your mission, you place your cards and click SEND. There will be special information however regarding how your ship and crew have to compete with other players ; this will be indirect but still interesting!

And we will deploy more simulators over time (such as a squad simulator).

The factions printed on your cards will be a cardinal value as well.

There will also be Faction-specific simulators. Unlocking and playing them will need you to have a number of cards of these factions. So if you have access to that, then there are more games you can play! and more rewards you can gain.

And before players start thinking about multi-accounts, please remember that you need a good star-level to increase the difficulty and rewards of your missions. Any simulator can be started at a higher difficulty and reward level if you have enough stars, which means having the most duplicates on a single account, and we will also give other incentives for it.


Operations are going to be fun!


Another concept we will set up as soon as possible is the one of OPERATIONS.

Operations are simulator missions which have several steps.

One day you receive the first mission of the Operation, but to unlock the next one you need to complete it.

Operations are often related to a story. The first Operation we will feature will be set in 2319 and will be about infiltrating a federal prison. The objective of next steps will be to get in contact with a rebel prisoner there.

So this will be part of a larger story!
And to give you a hint, having at least one rebel character at the end step will be helpful.

To participate into the first step however, you have no need for a Rebel.
You need to have:

  • any starship with a "Military" or "Federal" faction,
  • one character with Piloting, and the Military, Federal or Versatile faction (he/she will be put into the pilot slot).
  • one character with Federal faction (being pro-federation works the same) (he/she will be put into the "marshall" slot).
  • any character with the Criminal faction who will act as the prisoner you infiltrate.
  • from 0 and up to 2 additional Criminal characters who you will send as support prisoners.

One special thing: if you are successful, the prisoners will be carried over for the next step, so you should pick these persons carefully and "anticipate" what could come next.

The mission briefing will tell you what bonuses you get.
And you should match that with some abilities on your cards.

We will be very interesting in hearing what you think about it, and what your results in this Operation will be!



This was a lot of information already!
And yet we did not get yet into revealing the abilities tables.
We will share with you some examples soon!
