RE: Great minds have purposes; others have wishes. (Washington Irving)

in #hive5 months ago

There's something that makes a person turn that key and unlock the future by taking action. Many people never get there and end up living a life full of wishes that never get fulfilled. Then you have the others such as great inventors who fail over and over again while tweaking things along the way until they hit the target of success.

But what drives the ones who doggedly keep putting one foot in front of the other until they win the race, as opposed to others who never even step on the track?

I had a speech impediment as a child which took daily practice over a ten-year period to surmount that disability. But I wanted it bad and I was willing to put the work in to be able to simply speak normally. So I think there has to be a willingness to develop that drive to weather the storms and just keep going until you win.

Wow, that is truly an encouraging testimony about your actual desire and willingness to work hard to overcome that challenge... that is certainly way more than just wishing for it to disappear, but actually living with a purpose and goal! I am really glad you shared it with me here, and hope you will keep living with purpose and overcome new obstacles in the future!

Thank you so much. It was the hardest thing I ever did, but it was totally worth it. Today, I'm known for my polished speaking voice, and while it was a long journey to get there, it was doable one step at a time.
