Brand confusion has struck once again. There are a handful of other cryptocurrency and social media projects using some variation of the name Hive. The latest round is the HiveSocial app which, due to security concerns, took itself offline this week. HiveSocial is not the decentralized Hive network. But, HiveSocial could plug in Hive and give their users powerful web3 features.
