Hello there,
Good to be back.

I just wanted to share the most recent updates on Inkito!

You can read more about the project in the Hive proposal in which I explain all of it.

But what is Inkito ?

Inkito is a new platform based on the Hive blockchain build specifically for the long form episodic content like comics or novels. It makes the reading experience better with an infinite loop and organises content as series throughout the site.

What about the new stuff?

  • Publishing

It's finally here. You can now send comics or novels directly in Inkito. With the selector you can choose from your exisiting series or choose a new one.

I've set up a 10% beneficiary to Inkito on post through the plateform. This will help further development of the website.

  • Editing

You can also edit existing Inkito content! Accessible through the profile or directly from the page.

I don't recommend it for Hive.Blog users as Inkito always places images first. Consequently, it would shift your image position. Not a big deal but it might not be ideal if you have a detailed blog set up.

Additionally I changed a few things on the main page layout and removed Hive keychain temporarly to work further on broadcast authorizations.

Publishing is a big feature for me as it brings this project closer to the beta version. I'll add illustrations and terms of services before contacting other artists. A couple days of work and we might see some more series popping up on the main page.

Stay tuned for more.

For any interested Hive creator out there!

You can already add your content to the platform using the right tags.

Adding the series id on all corresponding posts, writing it as follows "author-seriesname" (example: "jrej-shadesofmen") The series name is for you to choose but must be the same for all episodes.

Adding the tag "inkito-comics" or "inkito-novels" on your most recent post for ranking.

Optionally you can add categories as tags in your first episode. The categories could be any of the following. "action, comedy, drama, fantasy, horror, mystery, romance, scifi, sliceoflife"

The first post would include some of the main series info. The first image would be your series cover image and the title, the series title. Hope to see some of you over there.

Thanks for your support.

You can check out the alpha of Inkito at www.inkito.io
Any suggestions are welcome! Feel free to tell me about any feature you'd love to see.

See you on the other side.

Jrej

Continues to impress! I really need to get back to tagging and revising more old posts to add in, and update that profile pic like you mentioned! Any more thought given to some kind of breakline or "do not render" tag to keep certain post images from rendering in the comic feed? I have been dropping out supplementary images for now. Of course it won't be much of a problem for people posting through Inkito directly, but if anyone wants to cross post across blogging sites as well then I think this would be a good feature. It particularly comes up a lot as its much more common nowadays on Hive to use image separators between text blocks, and have a footer banner ad/ author graphic.

Thanks for your feedback. I'll definitely implement that. Maybe rendering images after the first separator. I'll look into it this week. I don't want to miss out on all your cool content! ;-)
