I would fully support a short form content app on Hive, currently this isn’t one and therefore I won’t judge it based on what it could be, but rather what it is.
Currently, right now, it copy’s tweets from twitter, posts them to hive and directs people to twitter. That’s what it does, and that’s all it does. So currently I see absolutely no benefit in that and stated so.
If and when the app does something different, I’ll judge it based on that.
Strangely, I don't have Twitter on my desktop or my phone but yet was able to use dbuzz to create 2 posts which rather contradicts your statement.
Secondly, 'could' is another word for potential so writing things off despite their possibilities is both ridiculous and hypocritical .
Hive 'could' change the world, but its not at the moment therefore it's shit. Your logic!
Of course, only rich people's opinions matter here because on Hive, wealth=power. No different from Steem really.
Interesting that I gave my feedback to a post and now am sitting clarifying what I mean and why I feel that way and somehow the response is to just cry about fairness.
Are all these “wealthy” people stopping you from using the app? Let me help you, they aren’t. No one can stop you from using the blockchain. Only the app creator can stop you from using their app. Perhaps the issue is with them then? As I don’t have to like the app, and therefore I stated so. Me not liking it doesn’t stop others from using it.. so I’m really confused by the stomp your feet and throw a fit reaction from some. If you like it, use it. If people think it’s spam, they may downvote it ... just like other spam they downvote.. that doesn’t prevent you from using it.
As far as the rest, I assume you can post in their community, cool. The point of the app that I have discussed repeatedly here is the copy and paste from twitter that I see no point in.
I also have said, repeatedly, that if they make it more than that - great! Currently I don’t see more than that so don’t really see the point of it.. so your assumption of my “logic” is quite flawed.. so yeah, you do you man.
Seems like everyone just needs something to complain about and cry conspiracy over. I can’t help that.
No one's crying, just commenting about double standards and bullahit except of course, if anyone dares to disagree with the high and mighty , it's called crying and complaining....and for people like yourself, it's called 'feedback'.
You are really really reaching here and now that everything I say is being used against me elsewhere, I’m just gonna make a few things clear..
First, I actually appreciate your feedback and want to know what you think of the app.. and shared mine as well, but let’s look at your words here:
That’s feedback. Yes you can post in their community and that’s a great point. There is a lot of potential there that I think they should focus on. My comments have been not supporting the idea of just copying tweets over to hive, as well as the the way they are doing so (linking to twitter). I see no value in that in the slightest.
This is where you started throwing a fit. That’s not feedback.. that’s spinning a false narrative to fit your agenda.
I literally stated I didn’t like copying from twitter. And the responses I got were essentially telling me my opinion was irrelevant as the app could do other stuff too. I said, cool.. I support short form content more times than I can count, but hate the twitter thing. If that makes me a “high and mighty”.. ok.. maybe next time I’ll just throw some weird accusations out to get things started as that seems to be your method.
I hate the port from Twitter. It’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen it before.. hated it then too. My opinion is only that. If you like it, great.. I don’t.
If you want to make this about something else, yeah I don’t really wanna play that game.
Also (since I would like to just combine it all here) @chrisrice, not once in any of my comments here have I said:
Or even alluded to it. I hate every aspect of the port from twitter. Every single aspect. Trying to go then to DM and attempt to pretend I said something else to garner support is pretty damn crappy.
So far I’m not impressed with your team at all and am starting to understand the response you are getting.
If you want to build a short form content app, awesome.. do that. If you post spam you will probably see downvotes, that’s not new... but you will never get “consensus” rather you should weigh feedback and do the best you can to make something the community will enjoy. You are making a spectacle out of a pretty simple concept. Good luck.
No.. you could actually post from the Dapp itself . .
And I am not sure if you knew that and were spreading misinformation on purpose or if the first impression of our Dapp made it hard to realize that.
For the record, @nathen007 is not part of our team, he is just another user of HIVE and I haven't met him before.
@nathansenn is the Nathan that is part of our team.
Yes, I got it . . We built a short form content Dapp with the ability to post directly to HIVE from inside the Dapp, from inside the Dapp, from inside the Dapp, but it also included the ability to repost from Twitter which was considered spam by @xxxxxxxxxx, you and possibly others.
So we took the site offline and are now regrouping and planning our next step.
I wasn't trying to garner support with that DM to @xxxxxxxxxx.. I didn't have direct contact with you but I did have direct contact with him..
(can't remember) mentioned that we could also include Hive-to-Twitter posts and you said we haven't done that though, or something to that affect:So I asked for clarification since in one of your comments @mmmmkkkk311 or someone else
So I asked @xxxxxxxxxx if a two way reposting feature would be supported by the consensus and he let me know it would not.
Solved.
Please, before you say that, make sure that you logged into our Dapp and tested it. We took it offline as a sign of good faith but it was more than a Twitter to HIVE bot . .
It was a content app and that's not what it could have been, it's what it was . . you could post to the Dapp directly in our interface without ever having a Twitter account.
That's not true, you obviously didn't read our announcements or test the Dapp . . I don't blame you though, you probably had your hands full and I had misconceptions too.
I don’t support the copying tweets to Hive and see absolutely no benefit it in whatsoever. I’m not against the idea of short form content, but that aspect of your app I am very against. That’s all I’m saying.
Okay @justineh thank you . . I understand and Bernie's replies via Discord have helped too.
So if we remove the Twitter to HIVE reposting feature, could we relaunch our Dapp as it was, minus the Twitter-to-Hive part?
P.S. I think the Hive.io website should include the standards we are agreeing on since other Devs and startups might not be good at holding discussions with major stakeholders like @xxxxxxxxxx and the various @hivewatchers like groups.
If you reread your comments you said more than that . .
You repeatadly said that our Dapp didn't do anything but copy Tweets to HIVE..
When it was actually a standalone shortform content Dapp in its own right, it just had the added feature of also being able to post to HIVE.
