Hi friends, it's been a minute. I changed up how I use Hive recently. I had been posting daily on actifit for years, but decided to spend more time reading more posts and leaving hopefully thoughtful and relevant comments that add value to the post.
So what kinds of posts have I been commenting on?
Hive Engine Tokens
Over a month ago I commented about my general feeling on hive-engine tokens:
My general statement on hive-engine tokens is, buy them JUST FOR FUN.
Most of the tokens have Large MAX supply numbers so can be inflated away with a simple change of a parameter.
Token creators get bored and move on to making and promoting another token.
Holders see something else they like, and sell tokens that haven't performed with hopes of trying out the new shiny object in their sights.
But it is fun to collect things, so collect tokens and have fun! 😃👍

I still feel that way. Some tokens have crashed hard. I still like to collect #PEPE and in fact I just powered up a Milly of them for PEPE Power UP Day (every Friday).

From PEPE to ALIVE
With the PEPE price being so low, I decided to swap it out at @tokenfaucet and give away free #ALIVE tokens instead. I did 70 giveaways with the same tokens so I thought I would change it up, and I may change it again in the future.
I'm still a PEPE fan. I'm still buying on occasion. I have no plans to dump my massive position but I may trade in and out a bit. I am number one on the RPEPE and PEPECASH richlists and effectively number one in PEPE since ahead of me is only null and another account that got a lot of PEPE in one shot and was never heard from in any way, shape or form on Hive before or since. The token creator probably has more tokens than me, some may be on the market and some on pools.

Others still love PEPE which is awesome. But why specifically? I was asking here:
But why do you love them?
Do you love all things frog related? Do you love their creator, pepetoken the human? Do you love the current price? Do you love the future potential price? Do you love them because they are on hive-engine? Do you love them even when they are being created/inflated in mass quantity? Or for other reasons?
I'll answer those questions!
I have an affection for frogs and the PEPE meme in general since it is popular in crypto and popular tokens can do well. I like most of what pepetoken is doing. I do not like the current price as it is way down. I like the future potential and even the current buy/sell spread. I don't like them only because they are on hive-engine. h-e has its advantages (buyable with hive) and disadvantages (getting ddos attacked lately). I do not like mass inflation of the token supply especially without an announced reason, but I believe there could be a good reason and I am open to hearing it.

I went to ALIVE in my @tokenfaucet giveaways for now because it's price is doing well and one of the folks managing the project/community/token is @tydynrain. He is very open about his plans for ALIVE and you can read that in his blog.

PEPE Game
What's happening there? People are still playing so therefore I assume they are enjoying the game.
There is a GEMs Market where you can buy and sell your GEMs. There is still a chance to get free GEMs when you win a battle but it is a lower probability than at the GEM launch.
GEM combining is coming soon. I'm working on that now. You will need to buy a License to combine GEMs. There will be unlimited licenses to combine Commons into Rares. The price for the one License you will need will probably be 2K VOLTs. Licenses to make Epics and Legos will be restricted to just a few. This means people who have the Licenses will be able to have a business in the game of combining lower valued GEMs into higher valued more powerful ones! There should be demand because everyone will want the best GEMs but not everyone will have the Licenses to make them so they will have to buy them from the License holding players.
There is a Market for GOV tokens which is tested but not released. GOV lets you vote on game things. In order to make it more fair, your vote power is the square root of the GOVs you hold. This lowers the magnitude of difference between whales and smaller fish.
There are other tokens in the game and other items in the game. More on that, later.

HBD
We all love HBD, right? It has been super stable for years now! It yields 15% (16 if you compound the monthly payments) and has paid 20% in the past. Yay!
But wait...
Currently the Debt Ratio is near 13% and rising rapidly as anyone can see if they look at the chart at hbstats (see sources).
Witnesses might decide to lower HBD interest rates if the Debt Ratio goes higher, so as to decrease the HBD creation/inflation and therefore Debt Ratio.
HBD is not risk free. If the HIVE price continues to drop as it has for many months now, HBD could yield less and/or drop in price to under a dollar.

You DO want the entire picture, right? I mean nothing in life is risk free and that's especially true for crypto! So understand what you're holding or buying when it comes to HBD.
Religion, Politics, Consciousness and Origins of the Universe!
It is fun to think about big things. But if you talk about them, you may find yourself in an argument! People have deep commitments to their own points of view and emotions come into play When discussing these charged topics.
For me, I want to hear All points of view! We can disagree but I still love you. I respect you and your point of view. I hope you respect mine. I'm not claiming that I am 100% right and therefore you are wrong. I'm just up for the conversation. And we'll still be friends because I still love you as a fellow human.

I wonder if anyone will take you up on this. Unless I missed it, there hasn't been a good discussion on religion on here in ages. Although there was, in the very early days. One of our 2 founders grew up with the religion of his father, but rejected it, and talked about why, right in here. His father was in here too, writing about his reasons for his faith. It was interesting.
Now this founder has changed his mind and reverted to his father's religion, and has built a rather popular YouTube channel explaining why a certain date in the future has a good chance of being the Rapture. Several of the predicted dates have come and gone, but the channel is still there.
I won't offer any proof here, but I know what some religious YouTubers say in videos. Something about something not being able to come from nothing, unless that something is God who didn't have to come from nothing because He was always here. And then a commenter will say that perhaps the Universe was also always here. And on it goes from there.

And I had an answer! It is not original, there are papers and books and videos on this. But here's me:
In my opinion, physics and chemistry explains where everything comes from, after the oldest thing that we know of - "the whole universe was in a hot dense state". Before the big bang, no one knows. That hot dense state may have just popped into existence from a quantum vacuum, or was created by a big collapse of a previous universe. Or something else - there is no shame in stating, I don't know! We may never know, or future generations of people and/or AI may figure it out.
After the big bang, atoms appeared. Eventually there was Hydrogen and then Oxygen. Attraction brought them together into a molecule of water. But it didn't have some of the properties of water we now know. One molecule of water isn't "wet" and doesn't "flow". But these properties emerge from multiple water molecules.
More chemistry, and finally some molecules that could clone themselves using surrounding material, and therefore we had self-replication. Surround that in a membrane and add some energy producing chemistry, and we have a cell - Life.
Some cells could receive electrical signals from neighbors and send out its own signal once a threshold of summed inputs was exceeded. These first neurons don't think or feel only because they don't have enough other neurons to talk to. once there are many neurons, then we have a feedback loop and some sets of neurons can know what others are doing, and the owner of this neural net becomes self-aware.
Eventually people evolve and we devise a way to communicate complex concepts. We become aware that not only are we conscious but so is everyone else. At first it seems miraculous and we expect it only came from supernatural sources. But now, there are good ideas on how and why consciousness came to be. Soon we'll create conscious robots and there is nothing like creating something to force one to understand exactly how it works.
That's one reason why I've been working on a virtual world where players can virtually exist and interact with the world and the other players. It allows me to be God in some sense and create my own universe in some sense. If you want to know God, be God!
All just my thoughts and opinions. Others may have other thoughts and opinions but I will still love them! We need to love and respect others who have different thoughts and opinions if we want to be around as an advanced civilization for many years into the future.

Hi! The PEPE Game can be played on a phone but the look of the card battles won't look quite right. You could play on any PC since the game is on a website. I'll send you an invite.
The game is like the original Splinterlands before it got as complex as it is today. You just buy some card packs, combine the cards, then play 3 of them against 3 computer controlled cards.

I wonder if it is my Internet connection which makes certain page elements of your PEPE frog card battle game load long enough (about 2 to 5 seconds each click), especially after clicking the link "PLAY Frog Battle Cards Adventure Game!", then the button "Select", then the link "Pay to Play" (for a total of roughly 10 seconds per battle), or if your game server is trying hard to handle client requests. 🐸🤯🤓 !WEIRD !LOLZ

I really appreciated this post, my friend, and thank you for the kind mention. I'll continue to work to make ALIVE stronger over time.
On the topic of sharing open, diverse, engaging conversations about anything and everything, I'm of the same feeling as well. I know so many people, both on an off Hive, that see the world radically differently from how I do, and that's OK. We can still be friends if we share different perspectives.
Regarding your perspective on how everything came to be, I can say that I began in that perspective as a child protege of the sciences. That was my perspective until sometime in my mid to late teens, when it dawned on me that the conventional scientific perspective was not large enough, which started me on new explorations, and quite incredible experiences along with them. Through my life I've gone through multiple huge shifts and leaps in my perspective, as new information and understanding come to my awareness, and is then integrated into a larger, more whole perspective. I bridge worlds, as I live right on the edge between different domains and contexts of being, in everything that I do, which is what allows me to do my magic in the various domains where I work and play. We are so much more than we think that we know.
And on that note, on to the topic of the very concerning price trend of HIVE, and how it could affect HBD, if it goes too low. For the first time in my 4+ years on the blockchain, I feel nervous. Personally, I'm just going to keep building and growing, though I am wondering now what to do with my sizable chunk of HBD in Savings. It might be better to swap it into HIVE to power up. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

On the HBD, I just got about 1000 out of savings in a few accounts. Not sure what my plan is for them. I had been thinking to swap some for LTC but then it shot up quite a bit. I thought it was due for such, but I unstaked my HBD a day or two too late to catch that pump. Maybe ETH is due next. It is down about 11% in the last 7 days; more than anything else on my CoinMarketCap Watch list. We'll see!

Oh, wow. I get the feeling that a good number of people are beginning to do that. VSC/Magi is bringing their liquidity pools online on 11/11, with HBD:HIVE and HBD:BTC to start, with HBD:DASH being launched soon afterward, so that's an option. The liquidity pools on VSC/Magi will be a huge HBD sink. I need lots more HBD to invest in these pools too...lol! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Yeah, HBD does seem risky if Hive drops to five cents... 15% yield is attractive, but hardly risk free...
