Marina Lagos Island Nigeria

in #hive2 years ago

Marina is the central heart of Lagos, it is not the capital of Lagos but it attracts more business ventures than any other part of Lagos.

The largest Seaport in Nigeria (Apapa wharf) is close to Marina, that’s why many businesses have their headquarters in the location both Government & Private Sectors.
Apapa wharf can been seen from the top of Eko bridge in Marina, water vessels are used to covey commodities on & off Marina.

Marina Is popularly known as CMS by Taxi drivers because of Church Missionary Society (CMS) building that is situated at it’s main junction.

History has it that all the landmass in Marina Lagos Island were reclaimed from water by early missionaries on their pastoral visits to Nigeria. Then the area became a very central place connecting to other regions.
Lagos is varsed but at this same location you can always find transportation connecting you to other regions of Lagos.

From the Yellow buses called Danfo, speed boats to Uber drivers always ready to pick up passengers.

Not forgetting the renowned Balogu Market; so far the 2nd biggest market in Lagos after Ikeja main market, where things are very cheap and affordable on the Island. Ankara materials are always surplus and very affordable.

Come to think of it, I have been talking about Businesses without mentioning that it is also the home of Corporate organizations in Lagos.
When you hear of huge traffic in Lagos, it is as a result of multiple corporate workers with private vehicles commuting on a daily.
I remember when I used to do 9-5 in this location.
It was really hectic most times 🤣🤣🤣, lots of people moving in and out at the same time.

The image above is just one session of the car packs.

It was really fun moving around again in CMS and taking this good shots under the hot weather 😉.
But I intend to upload most of my stock photos to online freelance websites.
