Why Hive?

in #hive6 years ago

Usually there are two kinds of people. One who just starts and the other ones are those who wait for the perfect moment to start.

Speaking from my experience, I belong to the first kind.

I think the best way to learn something is by doing it.

A couple of days ago, @travel-cuisine told me about something new called hive that is happening around the steemit space.

And when I finally decided to check it out today, I was surprised to see that one of my old steemit friend @sidwrites is back here. I think he was getting bored because of the lockdown and while exploring the rabit hole of his past projects, he somehow found out his steemit keys.

Anyways, I have been out of the crypto space in early 2018 and haven't even checked the price of bitcoin since 2019.

I know that a lot has happened during this time and there is a lot to catch up.

Like everyone else, I was also getting bored at my home. After spending my first week playing games on my laptop and watching Netflix, I was running out of ideas of what to do next. So I think HIVE could be my escape from this boredom.

There are a couple of reasons why I am quite excited about hive.

1: I haven't written anything after leaving steemit.

Even though I wasn't a good writer, I enjoyed creating posts on steemit. And after leaving it in 2018, I haven't written any content except a few posts on my twitter account.

I think that hive could bring back those old cherished memories of mine.

2: Reading some new books.

As my content was related to self improvement, I used to read a number of books in the past.

And now that I have got time to read and write about self improvement ideas, I can read two new books that I was planning to read but couldn't in the past couple of months.

The books that I have planned to read are The Compound Effect and The Atomic Habits.

3: Catching up with what's happening in the crypto space:

As I haven't been around this space in the last two years, I have missed on a lot of things. So there is a lot of stuff to learn about like which new projects are there and which ones are wiped out. From what I have heard, I think most of the altcoins are slowly dying a painful death.

4: Connecting with some old friends and making new ones.

I have made some really good friends on steemit who are still in contact with me even after I left steemit. I think creative space like hive will provide me a good opportunity to make new life long friends here.

5: Making a productive habit during the quarantine time.

I felt like I was wasting most of my time in the first week of lockdown. Even though I needed a break from my stressful life, I wasn't enjoying my free time wasting it on unproductive things.

So, I have decided to spend most of my quarantine time on reading books and creating new posts on hive.

So, even though I don't know much about hive, the interface looks good and I believe the best way to learn about it is to start doing it and learn on the way.
