Attention: There's NO 1% HIVE refund - Do not send HIVE to the Account @bot.reward

in #hivelast month

Right now, the account @bot.reward is sending messages through a memo / transfer to different users with a strange promise. The message says:

I am a BOT. Send me any amount of HIVE and I will refund your HIVE plus 1 percent.

But let me be very clear – this is complete nonsense and it really looks like a scam. This kind of trick has already been seen on other platforms, and it usually ends with users losing their tokens.

Please be careful. Do not send any HIVE to this account. Do not interact with it at all. It is very likely just trying to take advantage of new or curious users.

Instead, use your HIVE in a smart and safe way. Power it up and take part in the reward pool. That way, your HIVE works for you and helps you grow your account over time. It is much safer and more useful than sending it to random accounts with false promises.

Stay safe out there – and always double check before trusting offers like this.

You can make a much better rate by curating. Let's spread the word.

They're doing loads of transactions with their little farm to make it look real. And looks like so far only one person has been foolish/greedy enough to fall for it. Let's hope there won't be more

Lol, that's quite hard to actually fall for :)) Give me $100, and I'll instantly give you $101 back - would anyone believe that?

Well :) better be warned

Thanks for sharing! Reposting to boost awareness!!!

Hey good pick up and PSA. I suppose people would fall for that like they do phishing scams, text messages from different countries that say “hello” and princes from Nigeria.

Pretty clever really but homey don’t play that.

I think I came across this some time earlier. I just thought that, this is over-promising and didn't pay much attention to it.

Re-threaded!

These types of schemes are scam, so we need to be careful. Thanks for the update.

Thanks for the warning, especially for the newbies. It's a big help, to warn each in everyone here in Hive. @louis88
