Hive is like any web based community, the issues and solutions have been discussed for a good couple of decades. People will always believe this time things are different ;)
I have kind of given up on influencing the direction of hive and now I am just hanging out with no goals further than just checking in casually. It's been too stressful trying to improve things, much easier to comment and post when the mood takes and also means less likely to cry over the low value that Hive holds :)
That said, I did get close to getting into arguments earlier about wasteful hive fund spending. There certainly seems a percentage of people who manage to game any system in their own favour.
I'm happy to discuss these things, but I don't have massive influence on things like proposals. I do think Hive is different to a lot of social media as we can talk directly to those developing on it. It's small enough that you can get noticed. Of course it should be fun too, so do what works for you.
