Muchos nos hemos preguntado lo mismo. Pero para quitarme esta interrogante me puse a investigar acerca de estas especies. Resulta que, las suculentas son plantas de tejidos cuya capacidad es acumular mucha agua, lo que les permite mantenerse en períodos de sequías. Por su lado, los cactus están formados por órganos llamados aréolas donde nacen las espinas, flores y sus ramificaciones.

Luego de estudiar y observar el comportamiento de éstas nobles plantas, puedo decir, por experiencia, basada en la estadística de la floristería donde presté apoyo por un tiempo, que de 7 chicas de esta generación que acudían al negocio en busca de plantas para hacer algún obsequio o detalle, 5 resolvían comprando suculentas o cactus. Quizás por su nobleza, rusticidad y facilidad de cultivar. Su mantenimiento es menor en comparación con otras plantas comunes, ya que requieren de poco cuidado y tiempo.

Podríamos decir, que las suculentas son una de las especies más de moda de estos tiempos. Si bien es cierto, que son muy variadas en sus tonos coloridos, una vez que se adquiere una de ellas, es irresistible ir añadiendo otra especie para conocer más y darle más verdor a ese rinconcito de colección. Algunas de ellas tienen nombres muy particulares de pronunciar; como lo son: Aeonium, Echeveria, Sedum o nariz de borracho, Agave potatorum, Flor de cuero, entre otros.

SUCULENTAS
