Hey everyone,
So this is my first post here, and I figured a boring "hi, I'm new" intro wasn't worth anyone's time. Instead I want to walk you through how I actually got into crypto, step by step, and why I ended up choosing Hive as the place to write about it.
It started the way it probably starts for most people — hearing about Bitcoin and Ethereum nonstop, in group chats, in the news, from that one friend who won't shut up about it. For a while I just watched. Read a lot, understood very little, and honestly felt a bit intimidated by how fast everyone else seemed to know what they were doing.
At some point I got tired of just watching and decided to actually buy something. I didn't throw a big chunk of money in at once though — I went slow. Small purchases, spread out over time, a bit of BTC one week, a bit of ETH the next. No perfect timing, no trying to catch the bottom, just steady accumulation. It took the pressure off in a way I didn't expect.
After a while, having everything sitting on an exchange started to bother me. That's when I started looking into moving funds to a personal wallet instead. It's more responsibility on my end, sure, but it's the kind of responsibility that actually matters if you're serious about this stuff long term.
Somewhere in the middle of all this, I stumbled onto Hive. What got me wasn't some token price or hype cycle — it was the idea that writing here actually has value, that there's a real blockchain behind it instead of some algorithm deciding who gets seen. That's rare enough that it made me want to give it a shot.
So that's why I'm here. Going forward I want to write about the honest side of this journey — the wins, the dumb mistakes, market stuff that catches my eye, and eventually some deeper posts once I've got my footing.
