Technically, today is day 41 (i'm a few minutes late!), but ignore that 🤣
So, I finally left the Airbnb - and made a move to an official home! I've relocated to Abilene, Texas. I've never been to Texas, and I have to say, it's an insane change of pace from Vegas - I went to order Doordash last night at 9:30 PM (on a Friday) and EVERYTHING within a 20-mile radius was closed, besides Domino's.. 😒😭
People are incredibly friendly here! I went shopping for all of the home essentials and groceries today, and people were just super friendly and full of smiles, despite everything going on in the world!
Perhaps, it's because Texas is incredibly Republican and they took back most of their ability to leave the house a while ago already - they're very outspoken about their personal rights (which is quite alright with me, even though I'm pretty reserved myself)!
Anyways, I wanted to pop up a new post and another update on my investments and growth on HIVE!
DAY 40 FINANCIALS: (05/16/2020)

Some final thoughts on my current position:
Lately, I've been entering buy orders at ~ $0.325 ea (independent of sat swings).
Because I've been dollar-cost averaging, my current overall net purchase rate has risen to ~ $0.217 each - a pretty large negative shift from the original $0.115 I had at my first 10k HIVE.
I'm looking long-term here on HIVE, though, and I truly believe that there's a lot of untapped value/growth potential here. Sometimes it can be discouraging (especially when comparing the dwindling profit rate/margin that I had in the beginning), but that's the game of investing, isn't it?
My plan moving forward will most likely be to only add ~3500-5000 HIVE a month in purchases, focusing more on trying to build up how much HIVE I've actually earned as interest/rewards.

And it's definitely going to test willpower, that's for sure. However, my sentiment is that as long as you have your stake actively working for you (whether leasing out, curation trails voting, or even actively engaging), then in the long run it's well worth it.
Simply from interest earnigns alone (not posting yourself), it appears that you can earn ~13-14% yearly, through optimization curation trail voting, or some solid leases on Dlease (rates have been low the past week or so).
Yes it’s quite a while off but I think things tend to compound faster as you move up the ranks so while it seems far now once you get more stake the stake attracts more like crazy
I agree! The way I see it now is that this is like Netflix it’s a place I go for entertainment and I reward people and get rewards for it and I can reach out to creators and contribute!
It’s fun and the rewards are cool too! If this thing can run for 10 years the network effect could be insane
