RE: Obligacje HBD / HBD Bonds - unlocking entirely new business paradigm on Hive. [POL/ENG]

At one point, the protagonist couldn't enter his home because he ran out of credits on his card to pay for microtransactions to open the door. That same morning, he paid some pennies for his morning coffee from his home espresso machine. None of these devices actually belonged to him and could only be used for a fee. True, dystopia?

That's what I call a great prophet-Sci-Fi author... 🙂 That is our future, or maybe better said, our present... Is it your house if you have a mortgage? Is it your car if you are leasing?

And regarding HBD bonds and the coffee machine... I'm far away from being a big expert in economy or such, but my main concern is when the HBD supply grows, and the HIVE price doesn't follow... It was great when we had a conversion from HIVE to HBD, but when we got the other direction, that could mess things up easily... If/when the price of HIVE goes down and we touch the "haircut", there is some mechanism to stop "printing" HBD, but there are some loopholes (I think DHF) which will continue printing them despite having a haircut...

I know the thing about "Don't fix what isn't broken", but we did that 2 years ago by "fixing" the old SBD system, adding features like DV, DHF, etc... The system wasn't broken back then either... aka. the chat from other comments, where guys are fixing the AI and DV problems with removing the reward pool... WTF? You have created the problem by "fixing not broken" and now you are going deeper destroying the complete system...

It wasn't broken in the first place and it needed small tweaks... DHF, HBD conversions, and downvotes aren't "small tweaks"...

Just to say... I like your well-written posts! I especially like your comparisons with real-life things/events!

Yeah... But even if you pay with your hard-earned money you get things which will last just until the end of warranty. I remember my grandma's appliances, from communist times, these lasted for 20-30years. I absolutely have no nostalgia here, but techically it's feasable.

Your concern is a valid one here, basically you voiced mine in your own words, that's exactly why there is needed some substance behind HBD in the long run. Right now this is just a tiny ammount, but we cannot be shortsighted here. Fullfiling real human needs is one way to protect against speculators.

We can agree to disagree here, but in my optics system was pretty much broken without DVs and with depegged SBD. At some point it's not fixing anymore but building on the top, but it must be proceeded carefully.
