Regarding blocktrades, not only would there be no hive without him, there would be way less development and infrastructure. He pays a team of programmers and a lot of servers (hive blog, gitlab and more) out of his own pocket, and probably spends more on that than the whole DHF combined.
The only thing really interesting to me on this website is the inflation graph, and that can be found elsewhere already. The rest is stirring a fire and borders on starting a witch hunt.
Totally agree with the frugal approach. This is not a time for reckless spending.
